Should I call Tesla? Reserved Dec 2019 and haven't heard a thing since

I reserved my truck in Dec 2019. I haven’t heard a thing other than am I lnterested in a car. I’m in northern Ca. My neighbor received his and ordered in march 2020. I haven’t contacted the dealer. Should I start doing so? It’s frustrating to see these people get it only to turn around and sell. I’m a woman in her 50’s. Have worked hard as a RN and knowing I was an early reservation holder really got me thru the daily Covid work. WTH do I got to do to get any insight as when I may be able to purchase this truck?! Ugh!!!

What are the first four digits of your reservation number (RN)? You sure your neighbor is not an employee or influencer?

The reservation system is not entirely fair or sensible but there seems to be an imperfect pattern of orders being fulfilled.

Your Reservation number RN,compared to the charts on this forum, may give you a better estimate of when you will be invited to order your AWD/Beast configuration.

Then wait another few months until delivery.

Tesla just recently allowed line skippers/influencers to get delivery 45 days after trading 30k credits in their accounts regardless if they had a day one order or not.

Reservations started on Nov 21st 2019. If you reserved in December, you're likely quite a ways back in line. Some people who reserved the day after the reveal haven't even gotten the chance to order yet.

You're probably looking at end of 2024 before you can place the order. Contacting Tesla will have no effect.

No one with a December RN (that isn’t an employee, friend, or influencer) has gotten an invite. Look at the orders list. They are up to about November 24th. And who would you call that could do anything? I know it is hard. I also don’t know when or whether you (or I) will get an invitation to order an FS. But if it happens it will happen a lot sooner than a non-FS.

The reservation list is not really an ordered list.
You are on it but there are other factors like location, social media following, celebrity status, etc. The reservation list is not really an ordered list, it is just a pool that the lower numbers get pulled from slightly earlier.

That should give her a better idea of how things might go IF Tesla continues making invitations this way.

As a fellow 50’s year old RN who also worked through Covid I just want to offer my support and say good luck @PattiPRN. Unfortunately you’re at the stage where you’re completely at Teslas mercy. You’d be surprised by how little Tesla SC employees know even when you’re at the point of having a VIN and waiting for delivery. If you called, they would more than likely just tell you you’d have to wait for the email offer. Good luck. Hopefully we see your name on the submitted orders list in the near future.

Place another Reservation and see what happens.

This is nothing new with Tesla, it happened with the 3 and Y. New reservations were getting invites to order while early reservations waited.

True, but there have been many with high RNs that have been serviced first. She didn’t offer much detail - just frustration (understandable).

There is no other way. We're not even a "week" into reservations ?
I ordered it within 48 hours of reveal, am rn 112880xxx, and just got my invite.... So if you're in December you're gonna be waiting a hot min. Unless you have 30k credits

Tesla will confirm you have a reservation. A reservation does not mean you will be serviced/delivered in a sequential order, aka: “your spot in line”. That’s the key and a general fallacy this website and many others have created. There has never been a Tesla new product launch that followed some strict sequential ordering for service/delivery. Not sure after so so many product launches and pattern formation that websites like this or the general population that are familiar with these launches would think otherwise and not attempt to inform folks. There are so many variables that go into delivery, many we don’t understand or know on the Tesla side. The one constant that many can agree with is their communication could get better.
