A button on the screen would also grant unauthorized access.

A glovebox button on the display would also grant unwanted or unauthorized access...
It's already there. You just have to touch the car first, then the glovebox icon. We are just saying it would be nice if it were on the main screen so you can avoid opening up the first menu. No change other than that. It would be no less secure than it is now.

That’s exactly why I made this post. I figured there would be a lot of great ideas and there’s a ton in here. Hopefully someone in the Tesla community can see these and bring some to fruition. I love yours with the get me outta here mode. I would call it “Apocalyspe Mode”
I was actually asked for ideas by the person at Tesla who needs to know while at X Takeover last weekend. I will forward him a link to this topic thread along with some ideas I already wanted to share with him since we exchanged contact info.

The problem is that every time you command saying "wiper off" it forgets that and resets to "auto" whenever traffic conditions or (camera misreads that cause false slowdowns) force you to cancel FSD. Every time you do the wiper resets to "auto" and the wiper starts up again wiping the windshield in perfectly sunny weather. That is why an "off button" to overide this automatic reset is needed on the main display to stop false rain wipes for the remainder of one's current trip.

Agree, but if you forget to turn it back on again, and wreck I’m guessing Tesla don’t won’t any chance of liability?

it is too simple for me just to remember” wiper off” every time FSD opposed to a potential accident. My .02

Not likely to be an accident due to not having false rain wipes on a perfectly sunny day. If conditions change where rain is possible I would just say the command to set wipers back to "auto" or "on".

It would of course be better is Tesla solved the problem of false rain wipes, but until then having a way to stop it from resetting during just the current drive is needed.

What about a stargazing setting where you can keep stuff on but turn off anything emitting light. Bed lights, screen (camp mode graphic is cool but not always), ambient lights, drl?
Can be achieved in cybertent mode but it’s complicated. The suspension levels and then you also have to turn off the front and rear lights in the app.
Also. It would be nice if tilt mirrors could be an assignable scroll wheel function.

They may be false wipes, but they aren't necessarily false rain wipes. It's trying to clear the camera from dust, bird poop, and sometimes even harsh sun. This obviously isn't easily solvable as the camera needs clarity to drive with FSD and Tesla has been "trying" to fix it since like 2016.

Agreed. That is why I want to see an easy solution to give the driver back control to stop it. It is very annoying when on a day's long interstate drive. Hopefully it will be improved and totally fixed one day, but until then I want to have override control to stop it on the display or by voice command.

Lost power at home a few days ago. It lasted several hours. My Beast is my home backup. Works pretty well. However, one problem:

I have my truck set to charge up in time for a morning departure. It starts charging around midnight normally. Power went out at 6:30pm... and stayed off until 3:30am. My truck had dropped down to about 27% at that point.

The problem:
I arrived home from work just before 5pm with 47% (from 80%) charge remaining. Even though I could have been charging for an hour and a half prior to the power outage, I wasn't.

The fix?
A setting in the charging menu that basically says "Charge up to 60% immediately and then charge as necessary to be ready for a 5:30am departure"

If it were a stormy situation, I could have done the whole "Charge to 80% right now" but it wasn't stormy and I don't want to set my truck up to "charge as fast as possible until limit is reached" every day either.

Charging slowly overnight (and after midnight for my utility company) is better for my battery, I've read.

I normally start my day at 80% and get home between 47 and 52%. No, I'm not going to charge only up to 50%... I want to have enough to get to work the next day in case I can't charge overnight or (like this would ever happen) I forget to plug in.

You can stop it by turning it off and not use FSD. They aren't going to allow you to permanently disable when using FSD.

I think you are over thinking it. Just say charge now. It's not better or worse for the Truck to charge late at night. The whole waiting to charge until X time is to avoid peak hours.
