Well this isn't how I roll:

Some people create their own problems. I have watched it play out time and time again.
I’m the last one to want to argue with you (?), but I’d like to offer a slight correction: most, if not, ALL people make their own problems.

Fair, that's more expensive on a the Cybertruck, $60 for four more.

Still, the tire or tow itself is twice that. The wheel itself could pay this several times over.

Yep, I've got a spare. Got if "free" with my FS credit. You can much more easily get road service to come change it than trying to get a replacement. Not a lot flats in my life but they happen. Sometimes, they seem to come in waves, maybe correlated with construction sites nearby. My garage says they are more common after big rains -- nails, screws, bolts get washed into gutters and pot holes. Our original M3 had 3 flats in 6 years and only one could be fixed and it was not caused by low inflation or cheap/unsuitable tires. Had another one on a BMW X5M, run flat tires, so that's another new tire -- can't fix them. So 4 flats, 3 new tires within the last 6-7 years. So much for handling everything with a plug kit and compressor (but I do carry a compressor). Of course, one can say you shouldn't have run flats because they can't be fixed but then you are OK with being stranded in a big, dangerous city. It's not safe to be on the side of a very busy freeway trying to plug (or even change) a tire. For the BMW, I was able to drive off the freeway, pull into a relative safe place and change the tire (I had a spare). For the one that could be fixed on the M3, I called Tesla and they have a mobile tire repair truck that has everything they need to fix or replace the tire. The other two, I was able to buy a new tire from the tech and have it fixed in my driveway cheaper and faster than I could have at the local Discount Tire. I was impressed. I now have the guy's cell number so I can call him direct rather than go through Tesla service.

So in my recent bad luck with flats, out of 4, 3 required a spare to move on, one could have been plugged. So, I'll carry the spare. Got plenty of room for my purposes -- even a refrigerator. As always, YMMV.

Ya'll have given me something to think about. I got a spare for my Model 3 and tossed it and the tools in every out of town drive. First car to not get a flat. I had a cheap plug kit and air compressor, but will order the patch kit and the better plug kit and call it a day. I also have a tow service, but with past cars I'd usually have the tire replaced before they were close to arriving. I'll keep the service because they will also deal with my trailer and that's been a big plus.

Had not given any kind of spare tire much of a thought before getting the truck. Like many have said here I have had a single flat tire in my 30 years of driving. Also like others have said, I inspect my tires often and spend a little extra for the higher quality rubber. One of the primary reasons I will have a spare for the truck on our long trips is to help make my wife feel more comfortable. I never mind a little adventure such as patching a tire. My wife is less about the adventures :) We plan to do some extended off the main roads trips when we get the range extender, would hate to have one of those trips go sideways when a spare could have helped.

I have one becasue there was not much else to use the PowerShare $2,500 credit on. I like the idea of having a spare but it takes up a lot of bed space. I would gladly give up the gear locker if that would hold the spare.

I hear this, but the entire volume the gear locker takes is literally less than the volume the fire takes, let alone the whole wheel.
