As the title of this post plea indicates, I wish my CT had cruise control. A cruise control that was easy to set, keeps the settings and stops when the brake is applied. I still have over twenty interventions on a twenty five mile trip to town because it cannot hold the legal speed limit in a construction zone. There are often times cops with radar looking to levy a fine on someone and my CT constantly fails to hold my setting of the speed limit, (it cannot read any of the many speed limit signs in the construction zone). I have to brake, reset the speed, put it back into FSD and hope that it will work but it doesn't. If I just had a regular, dependable cruise control I would be VERY happy. Make myself and others like me happy about our CT purchase. Thank you in advance.

RTFM. It's called TACC. It works for me exactly like what you are asking for.

As Aces said, TACC (traffic aware cruise control) will hold whatever speed limit you set and will auto brake and not rear-end the car in front of you (you still have to do all the steering).

You can also limit FSD’s top speed by scrolling the right wheel down and it won’t go faster than you tell it to. You have to do this every time the speed limit changes though, so keep that in mind.

You can pick whether to use TACC or FSD in the autopilot menu.

You can only switch when the truck is parked

TACC in my truck is a joke. Panic slowdowns are very frequent.

Someone turning 300 feet ahead of me (I’m only going 35mph) and it’s a panic slowdown. Semi in the oncoming lane, panic slowdown, but only sometimes so impossible to predict. Shadow in the road panic slowdown, again sporadic.
I’ve brought my concern to service with no solution on Teslas part.

Hopefully they read this post as well.
I stopped using it.

So I second “Please add cruise control”

Agree that TACC is difficult, for many reasons. Poor velocity control is the main problem. Incorrect application due to bad AI thinking is the other.

Would be nice to have something that responds to the human. I am quite capable to drive, and just would like to control speed with my hands, and not always with my feet.

I use the scroll wheel and accelerator (if needed), but rarely the brake. I am really used to using the right scroll down or up to change 5 mph at a time if the truck doesn’t catch a speed limit change. I have my overage set to 5% if using FSD, but still scroll a lot to reset the speed. Coming from a Model 3 I’m used to the early days.

we are the test pilots
we are the crash test dummies
we are being trained to drive like FSD wants us to drive. you either give in or go crazy yelling at a machine.
I agree with you completely except for one thing. I don't go crazy and yell at a machine. I go crazy and loudly cuss out the machine.

Tacc sucks, at least the last time I tried it. Agreed with OP, a dumb generic cruise be nice, especially when towing a trailer and FSD gets turned off.
