Tesla, I imagine, will rise way above its competitors. If a customer gets a better return from using Tesla software, why go anywhere else?

Is it possible that Tesla's arbitrage business will run as a separate entity to its Magapack installation business?
Not only managing its own projects, but competitor installations as well?

I want Tesla to program "cut-throatedness" into their Auto-Bidder A.I. When the grid calls for more power, it should wait for fossil fueled peaker plants to fire up before underbidding them at the last second. Sure, in the short term it will increase greenhouse gas emissions, but if those polluting peaker plants repeatedly incur the costs of starting up, only to be out-bid before reaping any revenue, the sooner they'll be mothballed for good.

2 Cybertruck questions in top 10, incl. "When will we get the update"

Though Elons word isn't bond, I'll take what we can get.

Random...
BTW,,, I read Shell is buying an EV charging business.

Interestingly a twitter user commented 'they will install Deisel Generators to feed chargers'

I wonder if that was a viable thought. Hope not

Doesn’t need to. The fact that these cut in sooner than peaker plants essentially cuts them out of the loop. Having a huge peaker plant which never gets fired up is just as bad as trying to play head games with them.

Any time the Megapacks kick on is a nail in their coffin.

Just trying to temper any potential disappointment. Shit might go sideways… then off a cliff.

Better any surprises be to the upside.

Randy Kirk thinks this: "Tesla is following the macro, not matter how good the news. That is probably going to be true regarding the call today. However, a miss on earnings or guidance will see Tesla punished. What else?" (1147) Tesla Earnings Report - Mr Market Is Not Happy; Stock Move Tomorrow Will Be All About the Guidance - YouTube

Given the way the bias news have been reporting on Tesla (e.g., 40% vs. 50%) I agree with Randy that any small crumb of negativity or weakness will be exploded out of proportion.

If the news is somewhat middle of the road or meets the fairly low “expectations” at the moment, that’s true.

I think there is potential Tesla surprises to the upside and will surge.

Of course that’ll drive the macro to some extent so it’s a bit self-fulfilling.

Every earnings call or other official announcement I've watched has cause stock price to go down. So this time I'm ready to buy a few shares AFTER the announcement. Based on past experience, this means it will probably skyrocket. I have this uncanny ability to buy high, sell low.

:)

Earnings were good.

Not great, not EPIC, but good.

In the investor deck, they reiterated Cybertruck production this year. Didn’t say “middle of the year”, but I don’t think you should read too much into this.

They also say explicitly more Cybertruck details are coming on the March 1st investor day.

How I THINK Cybertruck will go on call..... (if anyone cares)

"We are on track for mid year production still. March 1st we are holding a investor day event and will have more Cybertruck details there".

How I HOPE Cybertruck goes on call......... (no one cares)

"We already answered this, refer to the earnings deck. We are on track for mid year, details in the deck. It's a bad ass product"
Did you miss that Christmas CT reveal day or something?? ;) ;)

I was basically right.. "see ya March 1st guys"
With your accuracy in predicting dates you might as well say April 1st...lol.

I wonder where EMs CT beta is that he was meant to get for Christmas? Maybe they're holding back all CT news until 1st March?
