Tesla gets misrepresented in the media, nothing new, but how is it so wrong?

Cigarettes can hurt you. Do you need a citation too. Here we go again. Stop being like this and do you own honest research for the truth.
it's a fair question and deflecting to something unrelated only shows that you have nothing to support your claim.

I am unfamiliar with Canadian news sources. The U.S.has the same issue with Fox News. They are overtly pushing agenda. MSNBC has their own spin. All sources have spin.

A technique I use in news stories is to compare and contrast spin so I can gleam accuracy. Based on the sources who attempt to sway opinion away from facts, I personally rate their feed and eventually cut away repeat offenders. There are also places in the U.S. where viewers do not have a choice due to local monopolization of networks. You only get their viewpoint.

I am curious, do you not like Canadian “liberal” news source because they shape, spin the news or do not like factual reporting you do not agree with?

Only answer if you like, not meaning to put you on the spot.
he doesn't like factual reporting - Canadian news media has far stricter standards than does its US counterparts so entertainment channels like Fox for example aren't allowed to broadcast as 'News' because it doesn't meet Canadian accuracy standards.

I have lived many years of spins towards the liberals agenda in this country (I am 61) to the point I even make an effort to go and vote needlessly when it is time to do so. Everything I ear and read has been tinted and twisted. In Canada the "NATIONAL" news is always pointed out against Quebec. I daily watch the news in Canadian English, Canadian French and even the US news and you would be very surprised to get the twist in all of it. In the US, I mostly listen to Lester on Channel 4 because of access. I like Lester! I do not get Fox news and other US news.
pointed out against Quebec? interesting as Quebec has its own special treatment clauses unique to that province.

To address the OP's issue:
  • The top 20 advertising spenders include 5 automakers
  • Those 5 automakers combined spent about $20 Billion USD last year
  • Tesla spent $0
Most media revenue is derived from advertising.

"Liberal" media. Have you heard of the cons counter-part. It's either lying, crazy proponents of conspiracy theories or simply idiotic -- that it's in entertainment classification than serious news.

Not just this.

Ford/ GM/ etc tend to give auto media outlets special access and privileges. They all have demo fleets and provide free vehicles for them to use for long term reviews. These press specific vehicles usually are groomed by the manufacturer to ensure there are no defects.

Access to these vehicles and the articles which result from driving these vehicles are what provides these companies with content which drives traffic. To review a Tesla, many of these companies end up having to buy a test model or rely on one which a staff member purchased.

The auto companies not only pay them to advertise next to their content, they also provide them with the source material. Rivian has gotten piles of love due to their large and generous test fleet alone even though they aren’t huge advertisers.

FYI, the automaker's US advertising amounts to about two thousand dollars per vehicle sold.

And then the dealer tacks on an "advertising fee" lol

I have it on good authority that some of the big 3 have cut national tv advertising costs recently due to supply constraints. We will be seeing less of this program brought to you by.. Or their logos used on the sets of some studio programs that many love to watch on Sundays. ;)

Let's not go there. Getting us angry (and their viewers scared) is what all that fibbing is about.
