Tesla is apparently now not letting anyone with a pending foundation series order wait for non foundation

That seems specific enough for search engines to be incapable of finding the result.

it’s only two basic requirements, so if it exists, it should be quite simple to find. I’m not even throwing in the full self driving capability.

If you don't qualify for the tax credit, I would get the Foundation. Between the FSD, Store voucher, and other accessories, the difference is less than 10k.
Losing 1k is better than losing 10k (buying the FS and not thinking it’s worth the extra money).
But Tesla is legally correct, you(OP) ordered a FS and put down a non-refundable deposit. But I wouldn’t say that is “right”.

But it makes since why Tesla let people keep pushing back their reservation, knowing that people would still have to buy a FS.

Seems like a weird specification to 'need' 35 inch tires.

-Crissa
Tires, possibly more than any other single factor, define how well a vehicle performs off-road. Larger is better. ?

If your specification is specifically offroad trucks, there are ones better and as you pointed out, cheaper, than a Cybertruck.

I just need a truck. Hoping for a ton of cargo.

Bro, you exactly quoted what I told myself today and finally pulled the trigger on FS Beast. I have never researched so much before buying, including homes and properties! What you said is the only thing that makes sense at the end. Someone can definitely turn $100K into millions in couple of decades. I could have done a 20% cash down on a rental property with this money. At the end, life experiences are also equally important and even priceless. Nothing can buy us time to enjoy things that really brings us joy. On top of that, I personally feel that history is getting made in the automative industry with Cybertruck. CT is indeed a magnificent machine. I definitely want to be part of that history by owning the original FS version. It’s a privilege if one could afford! ?
As a FS Beast owner, you are 100% correct.

Not only do ICE trucks in the same size and class as the CT sell for $80,000+, but they require $6-7,000 a year in fuel and maintenance. With my solar panels, the CT basically pays for itself in 10 years, while an ICE pickup would end up costing well over $150k between purchase and operating expenses. Plus ICE trucks accelerate and drive like :poop:

At this point IMO the $19k difference (losing 1k deposit) is worth FSD, mobile charger, wall charger, PowerShare gateway, PowerShare install (2.5k AWD/4k CB), light bar (CB), and other small accessories.

In the event FSD goes back to $15k (unlikely anytime soon), you can really see the value of FS. Cant wait to have the first consumer self driving truck.

Cybertruck order, previous Model 3

Tesla basically just told me to either take delivery of a foundation series truck or lose $1000 dollars and place a new order for a non foundation series truck when it comes out.

Is tesla in the right here?
The same thing happened to me today. I was offered the cybertruck months ago and I was very eager after waiting 5 years (I ordered the night it was unveiled). It wasn't until I saw that I couldn't configure it the way I wanted and it would cost $100k instead of $80k that I stopped. At that time, I called Tesla and the rep I spoke to said I needed to put down $1000 to confirm I wanted a cybertruck and just not complete the process for delivery. He said the $1k would go toward a non-foundation series when it becomes available.

Now I get an email and text saying if I don't take the Foundation, they'll cancel it and my reservation. I called Tesla and am now told in order to get a non-foundation truck I have to cancel my order, lose the $1000 and reorder at the back of the line. After I make a new reservation, they can move me up but they're not saying how far or if I'd be in my original order position; no guarantees at all!

I previously owned Model 3 (wife got it in the divorce). What I want is a non-foundation & the extended range battery for towing. I've even told the resps I'm prepared to pay cash. I can't afford the foundation and the extended range battery. I could care less about FSD! I want the cybertruck, but this is WRONG! The customer shouldn't be treated this way. Can anyone help out here?
