Tesla: "To maintain service life, the battery pack should be stored at a state of charge (SOC) of 15 to 50%."

For people who order 5 years ago, it's more like ordering a pepperoni pizza in the first place and then when it comes time for delivery. 5 years later pizza place says " all we've got are Supremes for now, do you want to cancel your order you've been waiting for for 5 years or stay on the list". And then you pay to stay on the list but they lock you into a supreme pizza when you only want pepperoni still.
Ima go grab a pizza now.

Yes, they're observing there was confusion (which I don't think was Tesla's fault) about if it was for just the configurations offered, or included ones offered later. Also, some were offered to put off the purchase for six months to a year, and Tesla seemed to be rescinding that offer without warning. And lastly, some others put it down based upon features that Tesla has put off delivering, such as the extended battery for towing.

So while I saw the non-refundable and said heck no; others still want a Tesla, and so are asking to be allowed to put it towards a future vehicle.

How many people could possibly be in this position?

I feel like some people are just being a little greedy? What I mean by that is I read the agreement and it seemed pretty clear that you're going to give up this thousand bucks if you want to order the truck and so if you don't want to order the truck, I really don't understand how you can argue that the thousand bucks should be refunded.

If you don't want this particular truck, I guess there's some merit to the argument that you should be allowed to transfer the thousand bucks to another vehicle so I can understand that. But a refund? I'm just not seeing the ambiguity about the original agreement.

I'm in a weird position where had an extremely early reservation (~4000), got an invite in Dec. 2023, wasn't 100% sure I was ready to buy it myself because of the tax credit situation, but a good friend of mine was willing to buy it as part of his business as part of a business write off (sec. 179 etc.), but then my buddy pulled out of the deal and I could no longer justify a FS vehicle and I've been waiting the past 10 months for a non-FS model.

Thankfully, I used my friend's CC for the $1000 down payment since he was the one who pulled out, but its still my reservation/order deposit, but still wishing I took delivery back in January for an early VIN where I could've had the vehicle much earlier.

I swapped my Model 3P for a Model Y in the interim, so its hard to justify a CT FS especially as more capabilities are coming down the line.
