I think others have reported this but curious if anyone knows what it is. Added a sound clip on the #3 post below.

1.At 40 to just over 55mph, there is a coarse fluttering noise out of the front end dash area, most notable on deceleration but can also hear it on acceleration. It's a mid to lower pitch. No significant vibration.
2. Seems to be more noticeable on the first drive of the the day then becomes more muted.
3. I recorded(see post #3)it but gets obscured by other cabin noise but I am 100% sure you would know if you had it.
4. Its not the high pitch wind up noise on acceleration.
5. Service appt tomorrow for a few items and will discuss this as well.
Thanks.

I uploaded a file but the cabin noise for some reason dampens the sound. Noise begins at about 7 sec in. Mainly on decel but can def hear during regular driving on accel.

It’s the front drive unit. Just had ours replaced which had that exact same sound. Make sure to drive the service mechanic around to show them the sound. Our VIN is 98xx for reference. Now, all is good with new one, much quieter cabin ride ?

Hey...Thanks for posting.
Did you get the noise in similar situations as I described?
Mainly first drives of the day and at 40+mph, most notable on decel?

Thanks

As a side note: I took one of the demos at the shop for a ride and it kinda even sounded worse at times... wth man?

It happened starting at 40mph and our noise happened only on acceleration, not regeneration. It happened from 40-55 or so. Never really found the max limit, just that it occurred starting at 40. The sound we had was exactly like you did. Take note. It did take two weeks to fix ours as they run tests for a day, then get input from senior mechanics at Tesla, then have to send the unit. If you Google Front Drive Unit repair, you will find the service manual with step by step what they have to do. It is very extensive, about 70 steps. We were nervous going into it, but now with the replacement, which is more efficient they say, the sound is gone and the ride is much nicer.

Not sure about your loaner. We have only been in one cybertruck, which is purs

Very nice to hear this was the issue. I have exact sound and suspicion of the drive unit. Tech drove with me, heard it, didn’t think it was the unit but I think it is. He said they’ll figure it out. I have appt December 9.

At least the tech heard it. As long as they are aware, they will run tests to determine if they will need to replace it. Good luck!

Had same issue and Tech has now confirmed it my front drive unit as well. He said this is one of the most common failures they are seeing at the moment.

Welp, they said it's the drive unit. I'm guessing just the front. Damn.
Waiting for parts to arrive.
Shop said they have only seen a few of these.
I heard it in their demo? actually sounded worse than mine and persisted way longer.

After all these years making EV's and this is what they send out. ?

So they’re just swapping your unit? Resolve it?
Yep that is what the tech said. I asked them to look at the rear unit because of that one recall about front and rear drive units on a subset of vehicles. Only part of that recall they did to my vehicle was the wiring harness.

Did you get it all resolved or waiting for parts?

Waiting for parts. Been 2 weeks now on a loaner :( Supposedly on Monday. I love my Cybertruck, but going to start ticking the boxes on the Lemon Law criteria we have here in Georgia.

Dang it. Hate hearing that. I wish they could just quickly swap and move on. My sons 2017 S had a rear unit swapped almost same day, was quick. You have many other issues besides drive unit? I have several cosmetic items.
