Would be nice if the tesla sentry software can scan and enhance the license plates or add it as a text box off to the side.

The story is the CT has stronger windows than in other vehicles. Yet a thief was able to simply "peel" it back instead of breaking through it to gain access, and do so without triggering the alarm.
SIMPLY peel it back? OH, you mean he broke it, then bent the panel back using a tool of some kind.

Well, I think it's HIGH TIME that the car makers prevented thieves from stealing CATALYTIC CONVERTERS!! Ours cost over $4000!! And that's IF they don't have to do much extra 'exhaust tube' as well. Meanwhile, you can't DRIVE IT either, WAY too loud and bad for the engine.

How actually the thief did this? What tool did he use? I like to have one in the car for emergency exit purpose.

Did you left a big bag inside the Cybertruck for the world to see!?! ?
I always keep a big bag of dog*hit on the passenger seat of the Cybertruck, just for cases like this.

That's uhh, way above what that should cost.

Yes, it is... But when labor costs are high and parts are in short supply (or so they told us), the cost to replace one isn't low... I don't recall now what the split was (labor vs parts), but it was around $1200 just for the labor! Guess there's more than just 'welding a new one in place' sometimes?

I do know that even FINDING one for a Ford F-250 wasn't easy (at the time)...

That's still more for parts than it should cost. Did insurance cover it? They're probably just soaking insurance companies.

Yes, insurance did cover it... This happened to us several years ago when our area was experiencing a HUGE number of vehicles (mostly older trucks as they are easiest to get them from, or so the OPD said when it happened).

I am sure that if I was just buying one myself, that it would have probably been half that cost...

What if the touchscreen (instead of the owl) displayed a cropped full screen photo of the person looking inside so they can see themselves (and know you see them too)?
Yeah, and also have a facial recognition scan overlay loop running over their face...
