Had the Cybertruck for less than 24 hours and the tonneau rubber seal strips are separating from the bed edges near the roof.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I did @Jasden 's leaky tonneau test (awesome video walkthrough btw) by going through a touchless carwash with the tonneau sealed. Water came in down the back window but strangely not so much where the rubber side strips are starting to separate.

Anyway, I made a service appointment to get it fixed, but just wanted to know how many others encountered this issue?

Same issue here. Very common from what I’ve read. Easy fix with some RTV if you don’t want to take it back to the dealer.

? Thanks @Tony2times ! Yes, would definitely be down to attempting this repair myself.

The earliest visit at my service center was October 11, so I have time. May you please share which RTV you used? I've had bad experiences with silicone based sealants failing on me.

Also, how do you steady the sealant applicator to lay a straight line along the groove for the rubber seals? My plan would be to just run the applicator along the groove itself, but would definitely appreciate advice from someone who has already done this DIY job.

Driver's side? Mine was driver's side. They ended up replacing it on the recall stuff. Just the driver's side though. During delivery they mentioned super glue but I think once he said it he knew it didn't sound like a good fix a new car buyer wanted to hear.

Driver's and passenger side, almost perfectly symmetrical wear. I'm wondering if it's because I'm doing 80 mph with the tonneau open? Texas state law mandates that the temporary plates be in the back window and visible at all times

@joesdayjob RTV is "room temprature vulcanizing silicone"

Got this issue fixed by Tesla during recall of the sails. If it stays to fail again I’m just going to do the silicone adhesive stuff myself

This silicone adhesive did the job pefectly. Recommend using some plastic pegs to hold the rubber strip in place for 20 minutes, while the adhesive sets. The applicator isn't perfect, but I wore disposable dish gloves to make clean up easier. I hate working with silicone but this one was better than most
