I think Tesla has an excellent system in place. Silent/subdued when it can be, alerting when necessary, and alarming when something sketchy is happening.

Constant strikes for trying to keep the car on the road; an example from a two lane highway. Yet nagged when I look to change the temperature setting. Let's hope for some good updates.
