So somehow I managed to put my Day 1 Cybertruck deposit on a new account I must have set up at the time. So now I have one account with the Cybertruck reservation and another account with my M3P.

Should I call Tesla and see if they can combine the accounts or just leave them alone for now (I did try to do this online without success as the Tesla webpage wouldn’t let me change my email ID to one that was already associated with another account.)

If it were me.

I would not trust the customer service people to not mess it up. No offense to them

I would just take delivery.

Then talk to them or transfer it.

Yup, that’s kinda what I was thinking too (just thought I would get earlier delivery if they knew I was a current owner.)

Hello! I just had this same thing happen. I had a “$1,000 off a new Tesla if you take delivery before Dec 31st, 2023” offer come through for me pre-order of the Cbyertruck. I ended up trading my current vehicle (2020 Silverado) for a 2023 Model 3 Performance. I used to have a 21 M3LR on my account before I sold it over a year ago, but when placing the order for the 23 M3P, I used a different email as my other one was old and I changed since then.

The slight issue was they auto-generated a new account for me with that new email… no good. I ended up calling Tesla support (not the service center you’re closest to) and they said they could merge my accounts. It’s very easy to trust them to do this.

While on the phone they:
1. Send you an in app confirmation code on one of your accounts (you pick one, it doesn’t matter)

2. They send you an email that the account is under and ask for you to send back an email where you state what account you want to keep. So if you have [email protected] and [email protected] and you want to keep the first one. You’ll be sending a reply email saying, “[email protected]”.

3. Now how do you trust that? How do they know it’s you? In that same email, they also have you send an example of your photo ID (government ID, license, passport, etc) so they can verify it. They also will stay on the phone the entire time you’re doing these steps so they know it’s you.

4. The account merge takes 2-5 business days.

I just did this and they even shot me a confirmation text right before merging my accounts to verify all was well. I had my old car I no longer owned and my Cybertruck pre-order merged with my new 24 M3P account. It was incredibly smooth. Don’t let others scare you, Tesla customer support has improved greatly since I’ve owned my 2021 M3LR.

Best of luck! If you have any questions, feel free to hmu!

You can have them merge accounts. I did this actually as I also had two Tesla accounts, and my CT res was completely fine

That said, it may still be better to wait, and merge accounts after delivery is taken if you feel it is too risky
