Come on people. It’s Epic no? He hammers this stuff out on his own anvil in the garage.
It’s freaking nuts.
Those lightbar brackets btw were made long before Tesla had a solution.
Honestly that’s what makes cyber life so damn fun. Garage time, problem solving, building stuff nobody else has!!

Picked up something new from Costco to throw on top of the DECKED drawers for the next camping trip

So how expensive is that decked system and what exactly is it you have to order to do that to a Cybertruck?

R1T’s running $1,699, so I’d guess the Cybertruck one lands around there. Should be up on their site soon.
Cool. That’s a relief. The fruble thing looks nice but 5 g’s?
after driving it for a while , how do you like it as compared to say a tmat and subtrunk?
I’m especially interested from a camper standpoint, does it substantially change the useabilty of the lower level? Seems like it would.
On the other hand, organizing all your shit in NOT the sleep area meaning the drawers and outer compartments is a massive plus I’d imagine.

Pretty handy setup! This doubles as our Urander mobile service truck so we’re hauling a lot of tools and spare parts. We tried the CargoGlide too but it sits almost as high as the L-track so clearance gets tight. Running the mega drawers for now. Only downside is they do eat into bed space so a triple bunk bed setup probably won’t work with this config😅

Triple? You mean a little one across between the l-tracks?

Yep, the drawer is 12” tall, so there’s only around 5” left to the L-track

Yeah. That is probabaly not for me then. Headroom would be distance to the cap though, not the tonneau so not entirely out of the question to sleep on that. Have you done that?

So from the top of the drawer to the bottom of the tent base is about 29”.

You’ll probably want some privacy curtains, or you can fill in the side compartments and hanging bags on the back MOLLE panels (those will be standard on the upcoming slam latch back window). We’re also working on an insulation layer for the side and rear glass, same idea as what we did on the top glass for the new tent

Cool. Where are you putting slam latches? The molle panel facing in? I’m sure that would be welcome. I’ve heard more than one person complain about the screw thingys.

That’s the back window latch. It lets you slam the rear hatch shut just like the tailgate and unlatch from the inside when you’re ready to get out.

The inner side MOLLE panels use hand twist screws since they handle a lot more weight than the top hinges, but if you’re not mounting anything heavy, magnetic tape works great to keep them closed and easy to open.

The rear inner MOLLE panels also have a cutout so you can hit the tailgate button directly once the back hatch is open.

Brilliant idea the magnetic tape. A little knowhow goes a long way I guess.
I love the design element of the cutout for the buttons.

What about from the outside? Do you have to open the side window to reach the buttons?
