Did a 30 min drive from the house to Tesla Service Center over streets in suburbs, merging into interstate, driving on interstate with lane changes for slower traffic, taking a different highway, exiting that highway, navigating a tricky quick right turn situation and finally arriving at the Tesla Service Center.
Truck drives like a human, goes above speed limit but not so much that it would attract attention.

Only Critique:
Should do lane changes to get to exit or change lanes quicker. But overall… fantastic!

Great job Tesla and Elon.

I am happy. My test drive today did not work so well. I had to intervene to stop it on making a left turn on a red left turn arrow. I also have a lot of very curvy narrow mountain like roads where I live and it would go over the center line enough times I don't want it to drive on my neighborhood roads. It also doesn't get change lanes in advance say a mile to get off the highway it waits in my mind to the last second. That said it does a good job. I agree with you.

Very nice. Annoying though as my simple drive into town kept crossing the yellow lines into oncoming lane, clipped a curb on turn, got on freeway into an exit lane and didn't get over so then went on to curb, turn right into a left turn lane wide in town, and turned into the lot for DMV about 50 feet before my gym (maybe it wants a new license).

20 minute drive and at least 4 interventions, would have been twice as many if traffic.

Beyond that it went too slow on freeway so had to force it then it didn't reduce at all from 65-35 in town and had to brake. Speed control is awful.

There was an option for "natural driving" that I enabled and a speed offset related to that. I put that at +/- 5 miles "relative" not absolute to speed limit. Mine was at one point 10 over speed limit.

I noticed on the freeway entrance curve it was hugging the lane markings.. There is scope for improvement there.

Agreed. In rush hour traffic the car is more hemmed in to traffic so less free will and less mistakes. Just go with the flow. Definitely didn’t know to get into a turn lane until the last moment. Twice today with 2 lanes turning left at a left turn signal it literally cut off the other car in the other left turn lane. Seriously not good. I know parking lots are for a later update but very weak. Twice today it turned and almost ran into a landscaped bed with a concrete curb around it. Was hoping for more but still impressed. Highways seem decent other than not getting into the proper lane far enough ahead of time.

It worked amazingly well for me the half dozen times I've tried it. I went through busy, complex intersections with multiple roads not evenly across from each other, and also went through a very busy rotary. It had zero problems with things that would confuse the heck out of drivers from some other states.

Three things I've noticed it have trouble with, which I have reported several times:
  1. There's something about left-hand 90 degree turns that makes the truck cut too close to the curb, and it often ends up in the wrong lane once completing the turn. The truck quickly corrects once it's established on the new perpendicular road, but I don't know what it would do if there was a car coming.
  2. I've had a few times where I'm travelling down a 55mph undivided highway and the truck will suddenly jack on the brakes for no reason when a car comes in the opposite direction. The opposing car isn't coming close to the line or anything like that - the CT just gets scared or something.
  3. The lane departure warning will sometimes randomly go off for no reason at all, when I'm clearly right in the middle of the lane.
None of those things are serious enough that they would cause me not to use FSD - the FSD is AWESOME. Like I said, it smoothly handles some things that my in-laws from Upstate NY wouldn't know how to handle (like rotaries or complex, multi-lane intersections) but then the simplest thing like not clipping the apex of a left hand turn somehow present an issue.

Yesterday night I was in a 2 lane left turn intersection. There was a car to my left as I was in the right (left turn) lane and it took that 90 degree left fine. Maybe it gets confused on some intersection but not all.

Mine worked great today! Pro tip: hit your blinker if you want it to change lanes!
I know that… but that’s not zero intervention is it? ?

Definitely not perfect but very good for early access. Should improve quickly like previous versions. I’m excited it’s this good so early. I would think in 2-4 versions it’ll be way better the rate of improvement lately has been substantial in model y

I believe that no intervention means You did not have to stop the truck from causing an accident or hitting something. My CT wanted to go in the HOV so I put on my right signal and it moved over a couple lanes and stopped going for the HOV no close call just didn't want to go that way

It got confused on lanes to exit on freeways that I have to use the turn signals to direct it.
