There are reports of this happening all over so it seems there is potentially a widespread issue they are trying to resolve. I wonder if anyone knows what it is yet?
I don't think that anyone will ever know, unless they have already sent one out with the issue, and the owner doesn't want to bring it back unless they tell him what the issue is. Even then, they may lie.

Tesla really does not like keeping customers in the loop if they don't have to.

No, you are assuming we are just being negative. This is not the case. I’m a long time supporter. Cybertruck will be my 5th Tesla. There have been delays with previous delivery’s, but in those cases I always received a call or text making me aware of the problem. I’m just frustrated now with the lack of transparency.

This definitely means there is a safety issue or major defect. It's the equivalent of a dealership stop sale. There is liability if they make the delivery, not simply a cosmetic imperfection.
You don't know this. Many times car companies look at costs. If they ship a bunch of things that aren't fixed the cost to fix at service center is higher. Even worse would be a customer that needed a service appointment to fix something. Then we start climbing the cost wall.

So what most automakers do is say stop delivering until we figure it out.

Could it be cosmetic? YES
Could it not be cosmetic? YES
Liability? Starting to jump to Business Insider level
Major defect? Highly doubtful, but maybe it fits your narrative that is being peddled here.

Thankfully I can end the speculation building in here lol.

i don't want to state specifically what it is, in the event they are monitoring the thread and would shy away from being transparent with me through the remainder of this grueling process. but it is objectively NOT a major defect or safety issue as one implied. Is is barely mechanical, borderline cosmetic.

I am sure it is a stressful situation, especially with the "if you go on a 5 day european vacation Tesla will sell your vehicle to someone else" stuff floating around.

Just received text from Tesla. Delivery at Ft Myers on Wednesday the 14th! Can’t wait.
Did you "Make Final Payment" before getting your delivery date?

I did pay in advance, but it certainly not necessary.
Having paid in full ahead of time, just like other members have mentioned would go over the truck with a fine tooth comb before accepting delivery. Rail rust, miscolored cover tiles, door rattles etc, a lot easier if you catch them early before taking delivery and may be "one from the back".

I was looking for a nearby shop to tint windows and wrap the Cybertruck. Fortunately, I found [email protected]! They did a fantastic job tinting front windows. Waiting on 3M brushed black metallic to arrive so they can get the wrap done. Highly recommended.

Had no idea PPF had been around that long, thought it was a last 10 years kind thing, thats cool.
