Now that we have quite a few members with CTs it would be great to hear about visibility from the drivers seat. We already know that rear visibility with the vault closed is dependent on the rear view camera. Do the A pillars or smallish rear windows create problematic blind spots? Does the long angled windshield cause visual artifacts? Are the smallish for a truck stock side view mirrors good enough?

It’s of the nature that there will be some people who are truly bothered, some who notice but get by, and others who say they don’t even know what people are talking about.

so, will be hard from a forum etc to gauge whether a given report aligns with one’s own experience

I would start around one minute. Sandy talks about visibility during his drive.

It would be nice if someone would actually measure this in real trucks.

Well many that want clicks and so on don't find many of the things that normal users need/want to know important. I know when I pick up mine I will be dark for a couple weeks. Want to enjoy vs. answer questions. Maybe other than the first blast questions answered that those new owners are in that phase.

Sandy is driving a real truck. Just a few observations on visibility.

Yeah, hopefully they hear our questions over their fun ^-^

I'd like a yardstick held standing on the ground against the front bumper, and what that looks like from the driver's seat in normal and entry heights.

And then that yardstick held standing on the ground like ten feet out. That should get us a good idea of the angle of the view, and how it compares with other vehicles.

In general pickup trucks have excellent visibility excepting close to the vehicle and directly in front of it. Great visibility is one of the features I love in pickups. If the visibility is more like a sports car that would be a problem for me.

It's funny how divergent are opinions on everything about the Cybertruck. On that video Sandy Munro describes visibility as excellent and he says it's the best visibility of any car he's ever tested short of a minivan. On the full throttle video the guys completely shame the Cyber truck for having poor visibility.

at the same time, in a second video shot by Sandy that very same day, he describes running the grunt corner into a parking garage TWICE

Munro also only had the truck for 2hrs, whereas the TH folks a thousand-ish milesmultiple days of filming

I think there are divergent opinions to be had without pointing to Munro, who at this point is a shill for Tesla

I for one would like to hear real owners on this as well. I know opinions will differ, but we are talking about a crazy anomaly were we are about to buy a vehicle that we have never even sat in let alone driven. I would never even have considered such a crazy idea. I am super wishful that I get an opportunity to actually sit in one before my vin hits. But many haven’t and i currently don’t know a way to do it. So ya, if we hear more from actual normal owners as to their experience, bring it on!

Opinions??? Visibility is either good or somewhat impaired. Different drivers may have different expectations but visibility is either there or it is not. The design is idiosyncratic enough that I am worried, particularly the A pillars and rear view. It’s not like we can check for ourselves like with most vehicle purchases. Owners please give us wannabes a bone.

he got 3-4 group interviews with Tesla execs when no one else did. Alone, good on him

but in one of those interviews, he said that he worked on the Cybertruck

Which to me means either:

he did work on the truck, which explains the access, and he’s not disclosed the conflict of interest

or

he didn’t work on the truck, and he’s so confused and early onset that he thinks he basically did

either way
