So just got my PPF wrap done.
Now learning to wash this thing at home.

What is everyone using that works good?
Looking for something to a full wash as well as a spot wash here and there.
Not trying to do $20 per wash in a little bottle if it can be avoided.

My wrap team gave out (and free refills) these light mist bottles with something similar to Mcguires quick detailer.
I just mist a panel and light wipe with a soft cloth about once a week.
For a real mess (mostly rain and splashy puddles) I hose down and soft (very soft) brush and soap. Let dry and mist detail spray after.

First photo is the interior and exterior sprays my team provides. Second is what I use when I run out and need refills.

This is what scares me about a wrap. Can it drive through a car wash?

Not mine no. It’s two layers of vinyl so the top one might start to separate from the bottom layer. A single color maybe or a PPF over probably.

Just posted about this in another thread but Optimum No Rinse is great. Just need to dilute it and it can be used as a quick detailer or even for waterless washes. I've had the same gallon of concentrated ONR for years now and I use it on everything

My 2017 S still has its PPF from day one. I wash twice a week in a high end with brushes. Use ONR when I feel inclined.

Always confused on it. When people say I got PPF to protect car, and still baby it like it's a show car. Everybody is different that's for sure.

A ditzy golden retriever jumped up on my car door and slid its nails all the way down the side the other day. The lady freaked out and I said it's only the second time this has happened. I don't know why you can't control your dog but thank goodness I have ppf all over my car.

Closing in on 300k. Best make my car look awesome all the time purchase ever.

It’s not waterless, but you don’t need a hose or a rinsing. But ONR is amazing, used it on my Model S ever since I got a ceramic wax job done on it. It only uses about 2 gallons of water to wash, and 2 capfuls of ONR.

Yeah even though it's called a "waterless" wash, it still requires some water. Just doesn't need a nose or anything.

I get a bowl/container, fill it with water, add a capful of ONR, and then throw in 3-5 microfiber towels and let them absorb the solution.

Then I spray a panel with diluted ONR (spray bottle with water + 1 capful of ONR), wring out a towel from earlier, and then wipe it down.

After that, you just wipe the panel one last time with a dry towel and you're done. I can usually finish my wife's entire Model Y in 10-15 minutes like this.

Uhh that sounds amazing. I’ll order a bottle today and try this out! Thanks!

I don't understand the concept of PPF when I've to again think of "specialized" cleaning solutions and types of car washes. Isn't PPF purpose is to be scratch proof and self healing. I was thinking of Matte PPF down the line but not sure now!

This way I'm better off with my current setup, Unlimited monthly car wash subscription, a sprayway and once a month proper cleaning if I've to! No need to worry about anything. I love the way it looks !

My vinyl is thicker than the usual, weighed 3kg more than my buddy's from the same company for 100 ft. I have gone through a car wash a couple of times, I don't see any scratches or swirls or any issues. I did treat it with a "nanodiamond" coating. Amazon.com: DIAMOND PRO TECH – Diamond Wrap PPF & Vinyl – Hydrophobic Protection for Protective Film & Vinyl; Ultra-Slick Nanodiamond Coating; 18 Months of Protection; Self Cleaning Properties (30 milliliters) : Automotive

I can feel the difference after the coating, vinyl is slicker for sure and washes easier.
