Water spots

Just got my Cybertruck in Austin. Driving around I noticed it gets water spots on the steel. I tried to clean it but made it worse With a cyber clean I purchased on Amazon. Can you give me some advice on keeping the stainless steel clean?

I’ll only comment that for finger prints I bought 6 cans of glass cleaning spray away ammonia free from Walmart and it works great. I haven’t had the Cybertruck exposed to rain and sunshine yet so can’t comment on water spots.

Sprayway is the simplest. Just use a microfiber cloth, either spray the truck directly or load up the cloth and wipe away. Do it in the shade, it will take you 10 minutes to do whole truck. Cheap at sams club or costco.

If you have some tough water spots or bird crap, I spray it on and leave it on for 20-30 seconds and it cleans it right up.

MY well water is horrible. Iron
When I wash my S i have towel dry it immediately
When I wash my CT, same thing. Hurry wipe it dry

Steel makes its own protective layer called passivation. Basically a light acid removes all stains and then the new layer builds up. Once properly passivated, truck is much easier to keep clean and resists staining and fingerprints better.

I used Tesla recommended Citrisurf 77. Wipe on, let sit for 3 minutes, and then blue Scotchbright. And rince and dry. You'll see steel get way shinier and stains removed.

The much talked about Barkeepers friend kind of does the same thing, but with a disputed light abrasive.

When I picked up my replacement truck it looked awesome. They said they used barkeepers friend for pre delivery. Unfortunately, they also sprayed all kinds of tire shine that came off as soon as I drove it.....leaving splatter all over.
