Water storage?

It is in the truck and it works.

Considering mounting the pump to the L-track, but for now it is just sitting on top of the water bladder in the gear locker.

Basically I open the gear locker, plug in the cable, grab the hose and open the nozzle. The nozzle I chose lets me get a nice high pressure spray for 20 minutes.

Ofc if I want to I can load up my 1gpm electric pressure washer and blast away at 1700 psi for 25+ minutes.

For drinking purposes, is there any treatment I should add to the water after filling to ensure it stays fresh? I've made sure to get a drinking water safe hose and all PVC fittings (no brass which can have lead)

Also, looking for good quick-connects that close off when they are disconnected, any suggestions?

Now I can add a tankless water heater for like $120 and get a shower tent for like $90 ?

A great aftermarket accessory idea would be a water bag sized specifically for the vault locker. There would be a refill port on the top of the bag, and a drain port with removable hose and nozzle adapter to come out the bottom, sized perfectly for the vault locker drain already there. Weight of the water would give pressure to the hose, without the need of an additional pump.

According to the Internet, a class B motor home typically has a freshwater tank of 20-40 gallons. So at 97 liters (25.6 gallons), the vault storage bag would be on the lower end, but not too small.

Has anyone made these? I think it's a great idea. If they aren't available I might try and make one. I've made some waterproof bags (dry bags) and other stuff out of PVC that would probably work. Although I'll have to see if heat sealing alone is strong enough.

Rotopax are expensive and store half as much in the same volume... but they are pretty durable and easy to carry and attach.

Anyhow, interesting to see the solutions!

You could I think fit 4 of the 2 gallons on the side Mille panels (double stacked). Maybe 400 bucks. You have to modify the back plates.

How did you mount the RotopaX mount lock to the Cybertruck molle panel? I presume the clamp is the RotopaX RX-LOX-PM Pack Mount Lock in the photo.

I am looking to do the same with a 2 gallon Rotopax water container and the photo (if that is a 2 gallon container) looks to be ideal.

They're a relic from my younger, Jeep driving days ? I HAD to have rotopax to be with the cool kids. I use something simple like this (Amazon link) more often now.

After recently removing the rear bumper to bedliner it I noticed a good amount of space there. I bet you could rig something up that would fit behind the diaper. I have no idea what the capacity would be though ...

After doing an overlanding trip with the water bag in the gear locker... It is really inconvenient to have to move stuff off the top of the locker and open it to get the hose out.

Also, storing the pump on top of the water bag was a bad idea. Inevitably a little bit of water pools on top of the water bag and gets inside the pump, tripping the GFCI on the car.

Next trip I will use the gear locker for rarely-accessed recovery gear and put the water bag at the front of the vault under the tent. For me the ultimate solution would be a thin rigid tank that goes against the front of the vault under the tent, or maybe is usable as a bed divider, ideally with an integrated pump.

The rotopax seem really over the top expensive for what they are lol. I like having a hose with pressure and a lot of water, it is nice for hosing mud out of the wheels and rinsing humans.

So, I removed the bed floor today. There's a fairly large empty area under the floor in front of the gear locker, behind the rear drive unit and above the rear sway bar. Not sure why there's so much space - maybe the Cyberbeast rear drive unit is much larger.

There's also significant space in between the suspension reservoir and the tonneau cover roll. Enough for maybe a 6-8 gallon tank.

Is that where they deleted the steel frame for the trailer hitch? ?

I also notice that the casting has a semicircular cutout. I suspect they designed it for spare tire storage at some point. The rear drive unit is in the way though...

I bought the Rulline mount on mine. With the raised mounting holes, I ended up drilling out two of the other holes on the flat side so the bolts would fit (the bolts were too short to thread into the bracket with it reversed in this position and the raised areas would not fit in the rectangle holes of the Molle panel. The smaller holes were slightly off center, so I had to drill them out slightly oversized of the bolt diameter.

So I finally designed the parts that I've been meaning to design all along. I hated that I had to move all the shit off the gear locker to get to the hose, so I moved it all into the bed.

This is 100% tent-compatible. I'll be moving everything forward so the pump lives under the tent. Although, I need to be able to get at that hose that goes to the tank for refilling, and I need to be able to remove the filter for replacement.

Also, there's a huge volume underneath the gear locker, behind the hitch. Maybe that's where Elon told them to delete the steel frame for the hitch Not sure why they didn't just make the gear locker bigger and deeper. The casting was also clearly designed with a spare tire in mind - it has a semicircular cutout. The drive unit is in the way though. Anyway, I'd love to figure out a way to mount a rigid tank down there.

As an alternative, I could get a custom rigid tank designed that bolts to the L-track. It would involve a lot less disassembly of the truck to install.
