What is flat flex cable guide?

I took my CT for the wiper motor and sail applique recall but after the service, they schedule another service for flat flex cable guide. I didn't see anyone posted here for this item.

Btw, i got the model X for the loaner. The interior space is much smaller than CT but FSD was nice.

That's the cable that runs along the floor and connects the right and rear control modules.

Same for me. I guess they have to look at the cable before adding the guides and replacing it, but my guess is they will just replace it anyway as they add the guide. My big question is what to watch out for in my truck that they don't put back perfectly.

Just had it assigned to ours as well. Am taking it in to get the seat cover reattached (came off of rail under front driver’s side) and they’re going to do the wiper motor as well.

Haven‘t seen anything about this on a recall. Anyone have additional information about the reason this needs done?

They have rubbing points without the guides or are misrouted causing potential issues with cable being shorted or broken.

Did anyone who scheduled wiper motor and sail exchange have it scheduled as a mobile service appointment? Can they really change wiper motor arm in my driveway?

Replacement of the flex cable requires removal of the seats, risers, center console, and carpet. For now, I think I'll just risk it!

They did not replace my cable because it had abrasion tape. They added the guide. Unfortunately my compressor to raise and lower my Truck stopped working shortly after. It might be coincidence, but seems odd. I am waiting on service around the 11th. Not a great ride in Entry mode.

Compressor function is separate from that cable.
To be more accurate: if that cable failed you would lose multiple functions simultaneously.

However, it is possible another connection in the rear control unit failed.
