Looking through some of the posted pictures of the CyberTruck from yesterday's appearance at GigaTexas, I found one of the bed. Looking at this picture it is pretty clear that the dark strips on the bottom of the bed are raised a bit from the SS. I'm not seeing those as filled T-slots. With all the talk since the initial reveal though, who knows what the final design will include. I also see the double triangle tie-downs at the front and back of the side wall. But then I see 2 double lines rising part way up the side of the bed wall between the tie-downs. What are those? Anyone have any ideas as to what they are or why they are there?

Also, this one doesn't seem to be the one from the original reveal. There doesn't seem to be a ramp in the tail gate.

I've been wondering what those lines are also. They seem to be on both sides.

I seem to remember those being discussed a year ago or so. We decided they were more of those elusive t-slots if I remember correctly. :ROFLMAO:

I actually learned to drive on the farm with old pickups. I've also been thrown from working horses while driving cattle. Spent time driving 8 wheel drive tractors. And have experience in a giant combine for harvesting corn. But that was a LONG time ago. I am now unabashedly a tourist when it comes to farming or ranching. I'll certainly be taking my CT3 offroading and overlanding. But it will almost entirely be a truck for play, not for work.

The vertical slots are expansion joints.

Also, this one doesn't seem to be the one from the original reveal. There doesn't seem to be a ramp in the tail gate.
If you look closely and carefully at the revel video you can notice that the tailgate ramp is hidden under a hinged flap on the end of the tailgate. It is easy to miss that detail in the video.

Also as we never see more than 1 CT in the wild at any time, I think there could only be 2 of the original prototype. As has been expressed elsewhere, I hope we will see a couple prototypes/test mules of the final production design soon.

True, like Billy Crystal out waaaay over my head but I'd be willing to save Norman, just not Hollywood enough to bring livestock into my house.

The whole T-slot/modding slots/l-track/tie-down issue seems unresolved to me. I want either a security drawer or tool organizer in the back. I'm not seeing that happen with any of these options so far.

As popular as the CT is already (1 million pre-orders?) I'm betting that these kinds of solutions are going to be available pretty quickly after CTs start shipping. By the time I get my CT I expect that there will be a ton of cool accessories to drool over.

Agreed there will be accessories. I'd like to know what/how the bed accessories will be secured. @Crissa and others want when wheel chocks. How's that gonna happen? I want to secure organizers? How's that gonna happen? I hope this doesn't sound like I'm expecting you to know. I figure if this crowd of CT-picture-junkies can't find a way, I'm scratching my head at who could.

I also have similar questions. One of the things I saw in the CyberLandr interviews was that they are trying to build something that is going to need final details to wait till the CT final details are nailed down. At this point, I've seen enough of Tesla and the CT to know that it's going to be cool enough and designed well enough that I'm all in on buying my CT. How it will all fit together and how I will utilize it in certain circumstances? Those details will have to wait till at least the final specs and a new public prototype are shown. I'm willing to be patient. But truthfully I have other necessary things to occupy my mind and still the CT is distracting me more than it should.

I have a theory as to what the slots on the sides are. Look at where they are in relation to the triangle opening "wings" for storage.

i think there may be shelves that slide up and own on rails inside those compartments. The slots you see are covers to cover the bolts or nuts that hold the rails in place.

I also notice poor fitting between the sides of the vault and the floor of the vault (look around those vertical slots at the gaps) I am hoping they address that in the final design.

lastly i don't think this is the reveal prototype. Look at what's missing in the vault....anyone else notice it?

the in floor storage compartment is missing.

here is the revel prototype you can clearly see the line where the in floor compartment is.

Yes, it's quite likely my CT will have a Decked storage system. Regardless if I sleep in the vault with a raised camper top, or in a rooftop tent; this thing does wonders to organize in a drawer system that's tough and makes everything, even at the very front of the 6.5" bed, easy to get to.

With a 2000lb payload on top of the Decked unit, that's not cutting the CT 3500lb payload too much, and you still have 1500lbs you could store in the drawers. haha peace
