Father's Day is just around the corner. So let's talk about dads' old cars.

Think back to those weekend road trips, grocery runs, and the daily rides to school. Those cars hold the sounds, the laughs, and the simple moments that made us who we are today.

What did your dad drive when you were growing up, and what's the one memory that still stands out to you?

It would be great if you could share a photo of that old ride!

He had a Renault, but getting onto the highway kept being a challenge; so I was thrilled when he got the 383 Plymouth RoadRunner with Hearst 4 on the floor.

My dad bought a new car every year, so there were lots. But he always had a "toy" or 2 and my favorite was a 64 stingray corvette.

I remember we had a pickup truck with a covered bed that had a cap with windows. The space was luxurious when I was a kid. I remember going for long drives to go camping, me and my sister were on top of blankets riding in the bed. In view of today's safety standards this is horrifying, but it was more acceptable when I was a kid, and I loved these trips. RIP dad, I miss you!

One of the first cars I remember was a Sebring citicar. It was a sup’d up golf cart in the 1970s, but it was actually a street legal-freeway legal electric car.

Whatever piece of junk he could buy for a couple hundred bucks.
We never went on a vacation where the car did not break down.
We had a Chevy Nova with no passenger side floor for years.
The most reliable car we had growing up was a Renault Alliance and a Chevy station Wagon.

I was poor growing up and dad died poor, but thanks to my dad teaching me a work ethic, I have enough now to buy my third Tesla.

A 1964 Rambler Classic Wagon with a straight 6 and Three Speed Automatic, no Air Conditioning.

It was sold before I was old enough to drive, but that didn't stop me from backing in/out of the driveway! No photos but it looked like this:

A great car if you didn't care about safety or driving dynamics.

As others have said… Many over my lifetime.
But the one that sticks out was his Buick Riviera 454 (the one with the “point”)
Crazy power for its time.
Photos I found online, if you’re not familiar.
