Wholeheartedly disagree . Have owned an x since 2016 and it’s still my favorite feature.
I should mention also that if there are car seats in your family, going back to conventional doors, with or without 90 degree opening feels like a sentence.
I do agree that it can open better in tight spaces than regular doors, but there has always been issues with mine. Maybe I was just unlucky lol

That’s true. Trailer hitch mounted solutions have worked well for us on the x over the years though.
While a trailer hitch solution might work for bikes or a cargo box it will definitely not work for canoes, kayaks, ladders, lumber, plywood sheets or anything else that's very long. A roof rack is required for that. A Model Y or Cybertruck can take a decent roof rack. Gull wing doors make that impossible.

I have a 38k miles 2022 Model X loaner this week while my Model Y gets delivery-day paint blems corrected. I’ll have to do a little highway trip up to the mountains to check out the Model X.

The Yoke feels too wide and makes too many turns lock-to-lock compared to Cybertruck’s squircle!

The yoke sucks. I hate that fucking thing. Wheel all the way. Love the CT wheel but drive by wire is completely different.

Very valid point. Worth mentioning that our 6 seater x has one neat trick up its sleeve which is a super long space right down through the middle of the cabin. Dont think I’ve seen it’s equal in another similar car. Doubly so with the 5 or 7 config which can fold down into a massive climate controlled cargo area.
I can see how you don’t want a standup paddleboard in there, but I have transported some hella long stuff in these cars before.

Model X with steer-by-wire and squircle FTW! That would be awesome. I really wish Tesla would sell a squircle upgrade for all non-CT models.

Absolutely. It’s just about the only thing they could do to make me trade up from our free supercharging hw4 X.
I’m not sure I’d like the squircle as much in a non SBW car but I’d give it a try if the offered the upgrade. The fundamental issue for me is that a non symmetrical wheel makes steering a bitch anytime you have to execute maneuvers that require you to turn the wheel more than about 200 degrees.
So any low speed maneuvering is weird and unnatural. So is recoiling after a turn. Just not ergonomic at all.
I don’t even mind the yoke on the freeway.
