I was just looking at my Cybertruck tires and noticed my rotors have this scarring look. Any thoughts? 2024 with 25k miles. Pads look brand new. Has anyone used Brake Burnishing Mode?

Is it deep scoring? Could be from contamination on brake pads. Can disassemble and spray with brake parts cleaner, lubricate the caliper and reinstall. Will work its way back to normal over time

Totally normal. Put it in Baja mode so regen is minimal and find a quiet road and give those brakes some hard stops.

My capipers in rear don't work very well. Rust is because pads are NOT engaging. SC refuses to replace calipers. Said i needed to burnish them in. Tried jamming on brakes. No solution. .

Brake-rotor rust is pretty much instantaneous when wetted. I don't recall seeing shiny rotors on a vehicle except after doing hot laps and hard braking.

My wheels are coated with brake dust, presumably due to FSD (I never use the brake unless I'm already stopped, regen FTW).

There is a Brake Burnishing Procedure in the Service Guide. You must enter Service Mode, where it will disable regen so that the brakes can be fully engaged.

A person COULD charge up to 100% and then take a ride with some aggressive stops. Regen will not assist until the battery gets down a bit. Yet another reason to not charge to 100% regularly (asside from battery health). Your efficiency will be lower before regen engages but for a simple brake dust removal day without getting into the service menu...

I've got lots of rust like dirt or stain just on one wheel rim. Does this indicate break is locking-up, dragging or something? Thanks.
