I tried to search this topic but couldn't find much. Had CT for about a month (and love it). But the exterior windshield seems to leave streaks when using window washer? I've tried every cleaner available. Looks like something on glass from delivery. Any similar experiences or fixes out there? Drive Safe. Thanks.

I get this as a result of my wiper. SC says it's a known (engineering) issue. I heard rumor of a new wiper coming, but I honestly can't validate it other than being told by a friend and seeing it also said in the forum.

I get horrible smudging from wiper right in the center of my field of view, and SC has replaced my wiper/motor, and attempt to adjust tension (2x now). It's scheduled to go in again and this is on the list but the appointment was postponed until 12/30 when my lightbar will be in stock.

Good luck!

A new wiper blade has a significant spring-loaded curve to it, so that the far ends remain flat. Unfortunately, that lifts the center slightly and causes a streaking effect.

I just replaced my blade, and the center streak was again pronounced, but is receding as it breaks in.

That said, other Tesla owners have noted that some windshields have a goop on the surface, either from the manufacturing process or during assembly…? They found it difficult but not impossible to eradicate.

I know of no CT owners with this specific complaint. I did scrub the windshield clean and treat with a hydrophobic coating (RainX) which improved visibility and wiper performance.

Someone else just posted this, too... Again, this is NOT confirmed by Tesla yet (that I am aware of).

Haven't tried it on the CT, but Rain-X X-Treme Clean Glass Cleaner is supposed to take off quite a bit, including water spots.

Definitely rinse after using.

I would not use that on a tinted window, since aftermarket tinting is a film. It claims to be safe for plastic headlight covers, even able to clear them up a bit; but that's not its primary purpose, and there are things that might do that more easily/quickly.

Probably need a step stool to reach parts of that humungous windshield. I keep a folding plastic one in the bed, folds flat and takes up very little space.

i have a few 'permanent' finger marks on my passenger windows also, when it was put on a boat they used tape to keep the keycard on the outside window. It was removed and left a film but I got that off eventually. These finger prints are like ghosted into the glass
