Service center cracked my CyberBeast windshield during routine maintenance, replaced it, and the new glass came back wavy/distorted on the passenger side — replacement #2 scheduled for next week.



Heads up, fellow CT owners.


Spring 2024 FS CyberBeast.
Brought it in for the most basic maintenance possible — tire rotation and wiper swap. Tech cracked my windshield while replacing
the light bar. NP. SH. Truck sits 6 days for a new windshield replacement (dropped off on a Thursday).
Two days after I get it back, I spot distortion at the bottom passenger side. Wasn’t there before. Open the door, look through the glass at an angle — the whole thing is wavy. Like looking through a funhouse mirror.
Did some detective work. Checked another Cybertruck sitting at the service center — also wavy. For a second I thought maybe I was crazy and never noticed it before. Then I had a friend check his CT. Nope. Crystal clear. So it’s not “just how they are.”
Replacement #2 is booked for next week. The waviness is genuinely distracting — especially in FSD, I literally cannot stop staring at it.
Anyone else dealing with warped replacement windshields? Is this a known QC issue with the aftermarket/replacement glass vs. factory?

This happened to me too, they said “this is normal” and had another a truck that had the dame thing, but my truck wasnt like that before the replacement.

yeah, for that to so easily show up on camera I'd say that is way out of spec. I would definitely ask a service manager to take a look and if they deem it within spec, I would be asking to see what that actually means.

Wasn’t sure if this was just normal but mine seems to have the same issue. I thought maybe it just needed a good cleaning but seems to be more noticeable now. Almost like a ripple-through-the-air special effect in a movie. It's basically the bottrom right quarter of the windshield. Should this be looked at by the service center?

I have the same issue. Had it replaced and now this one is even more distorted. Not sure if they'd replace it again. Curious if anyone's had success

Can you provide some details on your replacement? When did you purchase and noticed the defect? Was it replaced under warranty? If it was serviced under warranty, why would they not replace it again if it seems even more distorted with the replacement?

So they replaced it a second time but seemed very hesitant and said they have no way of inspecting it before hand and they won't replace it again, and now the driver distortion is gone, but the original issue (passenger side waviness) is back

Getting it replaced is a risk, it seems to be a qc issue with the replacement glass. I think that they all have a degree of this now..

both CTs ive been in have some of this

ive read its somewhat to be expected due to the size and shape of the pane of glass - dunno if thats true or bs

@tonedover Kinda thinking it's BS since I've been in CT loaners with very few issues, just seems inconsistent or maybe something changed

That wavyness on the passenger side is not normal. My 24 beast doesn't have that issue.

The appointment was scheduled for Wednesday before 4th July weekend. I submitted DL & INSURANCE Documents for the loaner. When I was dropping off I was told loaner may not be available. So I rescheduled for end of the month. I don’t have convenient availability at the moment. *ALSO I received the PCS2 error. Will not charge on anything other then TESLA SUPER CHARGER. I added that to the appointment. Which made it longer than same day. It’s so distracting. It’s not isolated to the bottom passenger side. It’s the middle extending to the passenger side.

My original windshield was 100% not like this. I marveled at how big the windshield (& Wiper) when I first got the CB FS (April 2024) was. Definitely would have noticed it. I returned a ‘77in LG OLDED TV 3x due to the display panel having dimples in it. Purchased from LG dot com directly. No better tv for sale on their website other than a ‘100in for 33k. I returned for the 3rd and final time and went with a Samsung ‘85in Infinity display. If this windshield comes back to me wavy. I’ll schedule another appointment. *reminder. Original was broken by technician. Not by me.

What a timely post!! I have a brand new Cyberbeast- delivered on 7/11; there is distortion on the passenger side, about 1/4 the way up. My wife has a 2024 Foundation that is perfect. Seems like this is a recent QC issue. I am hesitant to get it fixed given this post (even though I have an appointment in 3 days) as they may screw something else in an otherwise perfect vehicle. I wonder if I can just get it documented and have it changed in the future when the QC catches up.
