Anyone notice this with the wiper blade making a thump when it reverses direction from going down to going up. I suspect it's the actual blade on the windshield making the noise against the windshield when it reverses direction.

I do notice it at times. The THUMP is always there it's just I don't notice it all the time but when I do I begin to ponder why it happens and wonder what the solution might be.

I'm wondering if anyone else notices it? It is quite a THUMP on each stroke of the wiper.

The noise made by the blade when reversing direction is mitigated if not eliminated by using a hydrophobic compound on the windshield, such as RainX.

Mine just started doing that too. Kinda annoying, as I haven't noticed that before.

They recommend putting nothing on the windshield, including rainX

My wiper did this when the truck was new, but it went away after a couple of weeks. Probably just happens with new wiper blades is my guess.

Brandon708 your wiper sounds like it's hitting something. Maybe it's going too far down and hitting off the windshield.

My nose is more like a THUMP. More like the wiper flipping over and THUMPING on the glass.

I'll try to get a recording of it and post it.

Having said that, I have an 8 year ceramic coating + a graphene hydrophobic coating that I put on the windshield when I first got the truck. I have excellent clarity and water shedding.

It's not a bear. @CyberGus is just in need of a desperate shave. He has been in the wilderness waaaaaayyyy too long. :)

I'm getting a thump as well but mines coming from the massive blade shifting from downward to upward motion. Oddly enough yesterday part of my blade actually reversed itself. So I have 2/3rds going the right direction and 1/3rd flipped. I tried flipping it back to one direction and it went back to this weird combo. Its going into service this week for lightbar(hopefully) and wheel covers so I'll ask them to look at it then.

My THUMP is when the blade gets to the bottom of the windshield and changes direction to start moving back up the windshield. THUMP when the direction of travel reverses. No THUMP at the top vertical position, just the bottom horizontal position THUMP!
