The bad actor perspective is a particularly interesting one and given that the EV movement/industry has been fighting big oil for decades (Cobasys / Ovonics anyone?), its the most logical one.

Again, Elon would have had to approve the development and production of the dual CCS/NACS Wall Connector. And it was the right thing to do to increase sales of their HPWCs and also make it easier for owners of CCS equipped cars add a Tesla to their garage. Sales of Wall Connectors are low margin sales done to accelerate the adoption of EVs.
I was referring to this unit which has the integrated J1772 adapter and not CCS. It's the only model as well that has powershare for our CyberTrucks as well.

My big question with V4 vs. V3/2 is cost of the stalls which look substantially more bulky than the previous models but without looking at the entire EPC cost of a supercharger site, I can't say by how much. The new V4 stalls looks like a hardware approach to solve a lot engineering challenges that Tesla has historically relied on software which is where I was surprised by things such as inclusion of a touch screen etc.

My bad, I meant J1772 (a Wall Connector wouldn't use CCS).

I imagine the touchscreens were included so a Supercharger would not be ineligible for EV infrastructure subsidies. They tried to exclude Tesla by requiring all eligible chargers have a screen (amongst other things). Simply disgusting.
