Hello,

I know there may not be many in the wild but if anyone has any leads or is willing to part out their soft tonneau cover I would love to purchase it.

I am told otherwise that a handful did received their cover but most did not.

I know of two in Indiana that have it.

Interesting to know, so far I only heard people who pre-ordered were refunded. I haven't seen photos outside of the advertisements and the original install video on youtube (which is still up).

The Tesla parts catalog does not even list the soft cover part number, only the rails and other components.

From what I heard the company went bankrupt so it makes sense not to even offer a part number.

I was thinking WeatherTech was the supplier to make them, since looking at the rail latch, it looks similar to their covers for other trucks. However, I also contacted WeatherTech and not aware of developing it.

Who was the supplier that went bankrupt?

That I do not know but I'd like to be able to test any prototypes that anyone would like to start selling. I also know of one marine upholstery place that made a custom one that I am going to contact.

After finding out it was cancelled, I was trying to find other truck aftermarket tonneau covers from Truxedo, weathertech etc. to try retrofit. If you do find a solution, I will be interested.

The photos of the soft tonneau I know of are the original official photos and the official video:

Don't know if aftermarket suppliers will jump on the opportunity, given the relatively small number of RWD Cybertrucks out there. The total number of RWD CTs that were actually bought by the general public (not including those that went to SpaceX) is probably on the order of hundreds. So the potential market is limited.

The RWD CT was officially introduced in April 2025 and discontinued in September 2025. Cox estimates a total of 9,691 Cybertrucks were sold in 2Q 2025 and 3Q 2025. If we assume that 10% of sales during those two quarters were RWDs -- which I think is generous -- that's still under 1,000.

Do we know if SpaceX bought any? I was at Starbase in October and didn’t see a single one. They were all AWDs.

I don't know for sure. But Joe Tegtmeyer made a drone video on October 8 that appears to show large numbers of freshly made RWD Cybertrucks in the outbound lot at the Austin factory (starting at 5:54). Joe assumed that they were RWDs because they lacked tonneau covers (see 7:04). This was a month after Tesla stopped taking retail RWD orders. Joe thought they were headed to SpaceX and other Musk companies:
Finally, I talk about the large number of LR RWD Cybertrucks in the outbound lot and how these may be related to a massive purchase agreement by SpaceX to replace their gas and diesel truck fleet at Starbase, McGragor, the Bastrop, TX Starlink factory, Roberts Road at Kennedy Space Center and other locations around the country! This is a great deal for Tesla as they can sell many more Cybertrucks and help clear out their inventory.
Then there was this post from October 17:
I was just at Starbase and can confirm they were mostly RWD.

Hmmm. Scorpious and I disagree. I was there October 29th and I saw nothing but core wheels, ruling out the RWD as those were produced with either cyber wheels or whatever they called those 18” ones. Lots of tonneau covers too.
