Got in a crash, giga cast fractured (video)

On my way home 2 miles away a 2023 Camry turned into my lane abruptly I was manual driving next thing i know big impact crazy sounds and lost control of cyber.

Could not drive home and insurance could not line up a tow truck for me (progressive).

No human injury’s but the front passenger tire will not turn, or hold air and it makes some nasty noises trying to do so . My windshield is damaged and the frames lost its gaps and cantrail is out of spec now.

What are the chances it’s an insurance total? There are no immediate errors besides low tire pressure.

Glad everyone was okay and the mechanical parts did their job. I am going to guess, not totaled, but not a cheap repair either. Hope they get you back in your truck soon and the other person invests in better side mirrors.

Ahhhh, a little buffing and it should be all good. Oh, and put some air in that tire.

Basically had this happen to me the other day. FSD simply slowed down and adjusted - I never manually drive anymore

Looks repairable to me. Their car doesn't look so good. Make sure they credit you for the depreciation.

Ask their insurance to include a cash credit paid to you because your truck will not be worth as much now when you go to sell it, even if it's repaired.

Terminology is a "Diminished Value". Alaska is a diminished value state, so you can recover the loss in market value if your vehicle is wrecked and repaired, with a two-year statute of limitations from the accident date. You cannot claim DV if you were at fault. The insurer may try to low ball you. Have ChatGPT, etc., help you pull details you can provide the insurer in support of a higher payout.

Had someone rear end my X a few years back and they only offered 3k in diminished value up front before settling on 10k. Generally, occurs after you get the repair done so you know how 'bad' it was.

gigacast is ment to fracture in spots, they can cut affected spots out and bolt on replacements.. maybe you get lucky and get it totaled would be my hope.
