We just installed our first pre-production kit on our test Cybertruck today and have been driving it around Las Vegas. The color here is Black Matte and works great with custom company logos, which we will be offering shortly. You can send us your design, and we can print it on your cover kit!

High speeds up to 88 miles per hour on the highway were no match for our kit, which holds up great. We could have tested faster speeds, but traffic is heavy on the weekends here.

We have joined up with Altitude Color in Las Vegas to make this kit more seamless looking and use fewer parts to make installation faster.

How much will the kit cost with custom logos?
We will have more information on the custom kits next week as we calculate material pricing and labor involved. It should still cost less than a wrap.

In the spirit of everybody rebranding/re-badging their trucks, maybe I’ll have you print:

FOUND ON ROAD DEAD on my rear cover. [Cyberus Logo upside down with x-ed out eyes for dramatic effect.] ?

Cautiously optimistic on these, as someone who drives at 80mph on the highway where there are sometimes 20-25mph winds still would like to see some testing with 100+ mph winds but think you fellas may be onto something if you can pull this off.

We've tested most of the panels individually at over 90 MPH in harsh, gusty winter weather several months ago near Cleveland. At 100 MPH, they'll look the same.

These were tested at over 90 MPH during a winter bomb cyclone with 60 MPH wind gusts. Here are the prototype panels we tested on that day. They never failed.

Will you guys claim liability if these do peel off during driving and cause damage or is it an ā€œat your own riskā€ type deal? I guess another way of asking this question is what does the warranty cover?

If properly applied and used as advised, they won’t fall off or cause damage. We have no way of knowing if a customer has installed them correctly or used properly. This is one of the reasons why we are doing a lot of testing before product release.

I appreciate the response. Say the customer follows installation instructions to the letter and even documents everything with photos/videos and the product DOES happen to fail. Everything has a failure rate over time, anticipated or not. Does the warranty cover damage caused if the product fails?

We produce innovative products, but we aren’t an insurance company. Like you said, all products have a lifespan, but they must be properly cared for to last as long as intended. Since there is absolutely no way we can determine if a customer follows all instructions to the letter, we can’t insure our products in the way you are suggesting. We warranty against defects and shipping damage only. That would be like a car company accepting responsibility for every dent, scratch or accident that can occur during ownership. Nobody could afford to remain in business with a policy like that.

With all due respect, we’re all adults here, and we all have to accept responsibility within the realm of what we can control. Since we cannot control what our customers do or how they use our products, our liability should reasonably end there.

Got it. Thanks for clarifying!

What an ingenious idea. I can certainly see the demand for this product. I guess it would have to be fairly close to a wrap look and as the product can be mass produced the price would drive the sales as everything is pre cut and not very difficult to install. At the same time when an owner wants his stainless steel look again just remove and store. Heck of good idea.
