I have been trying to come up with a good truck bed tent set up for the Cybertruck for a while now. I was not interested in the Cyber tent, due to both cost and the tedious set up.
I finally pulled the trigger and bought a tent then “fabricated” a mount. Tonneau cover closes fully when the tent is folded up, with about 9 inches of space under the mounts.
Setup or break down takes about 1 min!
UPDATE:
Below is the list of parts I used, I did have some of this stuff laying around, and there are probably some cheaper alternatives, especially for the 2080 extrusions, but I thought they gave it a nice look, and they line up and bolted well to the "shelf hangers" I used for the drop down.
With the below really not much modification needed. Really just two or three things:
1. You have to cut the 2080 to length which is a bit tricky as the bed is not square and the side has some flex to it, so to get a tight fit you have to cut just a bit long.
2. Drill out the top holes on the hanger to fit the t tract bolts. You have to bend the shelf hangers, I just placed the short end in a vice and bent the arm, eyeballing it.
3. Optional cut the u bolts to get maximum clearance under the tent.
I think the build is fairly straight forward, t track bolts go in the t tract, rails supports (shelf supports) attach to the t tract bolts. The 2080 then bolts to the shelf supports (holes line up). Place the tent on top, and use the u bolts secure. Just have to get skinny to get underneath to bolt it on. Probably take 2-3 hours. I am sure everyone on here will have even better ideas/improvements. I am interested to see what everyone does with it.
