Tesla has brought the Cybertruck to every public event they’ve done in 2022 and mentioned it at most of them. Expecting him not to bring it and mention it is foolish.

It will be there. Very likely they will at least mention it in passing. Certainly he’ll address it if asked about it in Q&A. Beyond that is anyone’s guess.
😊 If you are not able to commit to a certain production date, you should not announce it so specifically.

Who would've known there would be a worldwide pandemic that would damage supply chains in a way not seen for a hundred years?

😊 You acknowledged it. Elon hasn’t done so.

👍Ford Lighting pickup truck was able to satisfy customers.
lol sure.... at a completely different level of volume scale than what Tesla puts out. in addition, Ford threw an ICE body over a battery. Tesla is designing a completely new vehicle. Ford and Rivian may have gotten to market before the CT however they are in no way shape or form saturating the market or putting out any significant volume to dent the truck business.

There is a good chance that many/ most F-150 Lightning owners will get to enjoy their trucks for at 2-5 years before they could buy a Cybertruck so it’s sort-of irrelevant. There is value in owning a truck NOW versus at some distant future date. There are folks still on this forum who are enjoying their F150 and may buy a Cybertruck when it comes out as well.

Ford shipped. While it’s almost certain the Cybertruck will be better, just having it out there is a value.

That's a reach.

150kwh charing is anything but "satisfying".
More than 90% of my charging is done at 10 kW or less. Prior to this fall, most was done at 1.3 kW.

I do think it’s fair to say the Lightning is not a great road trip vehicle. But a lot of pickups only rarely road trip. When I had a pickup, we only very rarely took it on the road due to fuel costs.

Yup, Ford has done very little so far and probably won't until the 2nd gen Lightning is released in 2026.

For next 8 months Ford will probably only ship average 4,000-5,000 units per month.
Ford has over 200K reservations and stopped taking new reservations.
So a 40K-50K annual rate so far vs 900K units ICE Ford F-series in pre-pandemic 2019.

It is not until 3rd quarter 2023 that Ford is promising to start ramping Lightning (version 1) to run rate of 150K per year.

Individual retail buyers will not be able to start order the lowest priced Lightning trim (Lightning Pro 230 miles, start $52K before dealer markup) until 1st or 2nd quarter 2024.

Individual retail buyers will not be able to start order the 2nd lowest priced Lightning trim (Lightning XLT 230 miles, start $60K before dealer markup) until 3rd or 4th quarter 2023.

Most Individual retail buyers will only be able to order the higher trims ( Lariat, Platinum) with options and starting MSRPs $75K to $97K before dealer markup.

For the first 16 months of ownership I used only the mobile charger. Upgraded to the wall connector a couple months back. While charging on 120v with the mobile connector was adequate for a Model Y, the Wall Connector is much much better. For a truck… the wall connector is a necessity unless your driving is very very light.
