This is a paradigm shift in vehicle charging. Charging from 0 to 100% in 10 minutes is a game changer. Tesla just raised the bar.
It puts EV charging time into parity with fuel refilling at superchargers. Which is awesome.

I wonder if they are going to offer a newer version of the at home chargers. My guess is the Cybertruck battery is going to be a little larger than we thought. I wonder how long it will take to charge at home.
That was my theory a long time ago and why I only installed a 14-50 outlet instead of wall connector. I only use the mobile connector.

That’s all we use to charge our Model Y. It easily charges the batteries overnight. No need for a wall connector and the expenses involved.

Yeah, those people complaining how the 20 minute stop to recharge from a v3 would just be too long... v4 (1MW) is going to so change that calculation...

My speculation is that Semi, Cybertruck, Roadster will use the 1MW...
then later down the line, Model S/X will move to it.

Any theorized/wished for van would also make sense to use this 1MW charging standard...

I am betting that was the reference in the NACS about the higher end of the charging standard.

A SS Cybervan has to be under development. It makes too much sense and the van life is huge right now. The business case is solid for a stainless van to be built at Austin.

Also, what company doesn’t want a super durable delivery van that could do hundreds of thousands of miles with minimal maintenance on cheaper electricity? It’s a no brainer.

Yeah this news is nuts. It may look odd on the road in a sea of rounded blobs. It will also be a clear look into the future. It will look its part so to speak.

Yup, I would probably pay $100,000 for a 500+ mile version with 1000v architecture and Tesla building out a mega charger network. Even though that is still a sore spot for many, how can it not be? If its this much of a leap ahead, it kinda should be to start. This is assuming that the S3XY don't also get updates in line.

I agree, the logic seems very sound to me... but I am not the super genius making Sci-Fi a reality...

(sorry, after the Neurolink yesterday and this today, I am on a pretty 'pro-Elon' high right now)

I was skeptical that Cybertruck would be any good for long haul towing but this revelation confirms that Tesla is all in after the pickup market. Just wow

1000v charging does ease my fears of the CT being outdated in just a few years forward with battery and charging infrastructure advancements. I love the thought of a truck lasting 40 years but the reality is it will be a technologic dinosaur by then as well.... Hopefully things like upgradeable MCU's *deep* into the future will be an option for the CT.
