Why are the new Cybertruck sightings so different than the original prototype?

It’s not necessarily a bad thing, as the new cybertruck sightings seem to pertain more towards functionality, rather than looks. The prototype, and current cybertrucks in the museum/showrooms look ASTRONOMICALLY better than the camo-wrapped, or other public sightings we’ve seen. It looks much sharper, intimidating, badass, and a much better designed model. However the ones in the public sightings look very rushed, and as though it was genuinely taped together last minute.

in the following clips, you can clearly tell which ones are better designed, and looks better. The taillights on the sighting cybertruck look very tacky, cheap, and rushed. However on my other video I also posted, it looks much cleaner, expensive, and just what the cybertruck will need.

The taillights and light bar aren’t the only thing wrong. It looks much “duller” and something that someone has made in their garage. I’m sorry.

PS-
If you think I’m simply a Tesla-hater, think again. I own 427 TSLA stock dividends, 2 Model 3 RWDs, 1 Model Y LR, and a Model X. I also have 2 tri-motor cybertrucks reserved since the hour it was released. I love Tesla and will continue to support them, but I can’t see how the cybertruck will be successful (based on their recent sightings).

While I may agree that the rear lights look not quite as good and I hope the windshield blade light is retained (though, I can't see using it much myself...), I think the newer versions look better and have a better fit and finish than the original did. Sure, it looked tough but the newer ones are just made better. Production versions will be even better!

Looking at F-150 Lightning pricing, GM's expected pricing, and even the cost of regular F150s, I can EASILY see how and why the Cybertruck will be successful. More bang for the Buck! Less maintenance (based on my Model Y's 3 years)! More capable! Better Charging! More features! And yes, it's a Tesla! Quickness! Speed! Agility!
Need I go on?

It's almost like they're still building it.
Honestly, I wouldn’t even care too much if this is their alpha model. Id rather wait another year, year and a half, and get a really good looking 1st gen car, rather than having something rushed, and being stuck with it for a while.

That’s what I’m extremely happy for. I know this will basically ? on nearly all other EV trucks, price wise, performance wise, and even functionality wise. This will even be competing with performance based ICE trucks that cost nearly double. It’s just there’s a lot of potential with this truck. And if it’s done right, it can really shine.

The 2023 Cybertrucks are infinitely closer to the original prototype than any other groundbreaking prototype ever shown. The Porsche Taycan looks a lot like the Mission E, until you closely scrutinize the details. Most production vehicles bear little resemblance to their original prototype. Search "Ioniq 6 concept vs production". That is a fairly typical evolution/watering down of design. I daresay the CT alphas and betas being driven around today look a little closer to the original concept than the Ioniq or anything else does.
Tesla admitted that they were behind schedule and rushed to finish the (one) prototype they had in time for the reveal. In the time since there has been a bit more analysis and value engineering taking concepts like the nesting tambor tonneau from a one off to something that will last 1,000,000 miles and can be mass produced economically. There are subtle nuances that change when you add a window seal or a bumper spacer.
(And then of course, research showed that CT reservation holders strongly preferred a BAW to a zany laser windshield clearing array! :D)

I get your point, and you’re right.

Well... I dunno about that. If the "laser" option/addon/upgrade becomes a thing in the future, I might just have to get it! :)

Easy answer is nothing that's announced looks exactly like the final version. A prototype is still in design stage so they have to make sure a prototype will actually work and be allowed to be sold. The original CT would not be allowed to be sold because it was missing several required pieces along with the actual castings. Hopefully, there won't be too many changes during final testing, including crash testing, that will slow down the initial sales.

I really hope Tesla moves a little away towards “mass producing,” and more towards what BMW, Porsche does. It has plenty of add-ons to choose from. This can be ventilated seats, ventilated steering wheel, laser windshield wipers as mentioned, etc. I just hope it doesn’t get out of hand like with BMW ? charging for heated seats whilst in a $100,000 car.

I'm with ya'! My gut says the Cybertruck will have a ton of accessories to choose from, both from Tesla and other aftermarket suppliers. I hope we will get the option to add several accessories when the config tool is released.

Certainly, in two weeks, you will hear more...better yet...why don't you ask Elon yourself...through Twitter or the conference call if lucky.

Exactly.

or is it someone else's opinion?

Hard to take anyone seriously (and their opinions) that has no post or reply history (save for the last two hours).
