Hard to take anyone seriously (and their opinions) that has no post or reply history (save for the last two hours).

Easy guys. Making fun of a new poster that had a legitimate ask (even if I disagree and would argue against it) puts y’all in a worse light than him.. and i know y’all are good/valuable members/posters of the CT community

There's something to talk about regarding the differences in the OG prototype and the pre-production models.

The thing is... they're prototypes. Fit and finish isn't what they're working on here. And the tail lights may just be placeholders to get them on the street. Each one of these is hand-built, then messed around with, things taken on and off... no one's kit car works perfectly every time out of the box, does it?

And we can't really know proportions because these are just spy shots from afar.

So while I think the worries are valid... and I welcome the new poster! I think they have nothing to worry about. None of these were made in Austin, even.

I really hope Tesla moves a little away towards “mass producing,” and more towards what BMW, Porsche does. It has plenty of add-ons to choose from. This can be ventilated seats, ventilated steering wheel, laser windshield wipers as mentioned, etc. I just hope it doesn’t get out of hand like with BMW ? charging for heated seats whilst in a $100,000 car.
I don't want Tesla to be a boutique car manufacturer. Tesla's idea of only having a few models with a few easy options is what they need to continue to do to expand the use of EVs.

Look at current car lots. You go through their website, find all the options you want then go to the lot and never find that car/truck. The only way to get exactly what you want is to order from the factory and hope you get it sometime in the future. Trying to keep control of inventory of all these options is very expensive, especially for the hated dealers. I want minimal options with the rest of the CT being standard. Give me the best features the manufacturer (Tesla) has designed as standard. Your comment about charging extra for heated seats on a $100K car is exactly what I don't want. Go configure an ICE Ford or GM truck and get ready for your options to cost you another 20-50%. Tesla's options, other than FSD, include number of motors/battery size, paint color, wheel size and interior color. I'm not sure there are any options other than number of motors and battery size. Everything else is standard. Of course you can add some of the accessories that dealers would offer but almost none of them are installed during manufacturing (other than wheels).

 OP joined today, just to post this!
Is that a problem? By commenting this you’re just starting unneeded controversy. I don’t know if that’s your point or not. And yes, I did join today not JUST to post this, but more so to post other threads in the near future

It’s not necessarily a bad thing, as the new cybertruck sightings seem to pertain more towards functionality, rather than looks. The prototype, and current cybertrucks in the museum/showrooms look ASTRONOMICALLY better than the camo-wrapped, or other public sightings we’ve seen. It looks much sharper, intimidating, badass, and a much better designed model. However the ones in the public sightings look very rushed, and as though it was genuinely taped together last minute.

in the following clips, you can clearly tell which ones are better designed, and looks better. The taillights on the sighting cybertruck look very tacky, cheap, and rushed. However on my other video I also posted, it looks much cleaner, expensive, and just what the cybertruck will need.

The taillights and light bar aren’t the only thing wrong. It looks much “duller” and something that someone has made in their garage. I’m sorry.

PS-
If you think I’m simply a Tesla-hater, think again. I own 427 TSLA stock dividends, 2 Model 3 RWDs, 1 Model Y LR, and a Model X. I also have 2 tri-motor cybertrucks reserved since the hour it was released. I love Tesla and will continue to support them, but I can’t see how the cybertruck will be successful (based on their recent sightings).

Honestly I don't know what are you talking about! :) and "astronomically" is not granted eather unless you are looking on tiny details under microscope on 5o inch monitor. It is the same CT like in 2019, same shape, same SS, maaaaybe little smaller but we don't know for sure and probably good thing far actually fitting this thing in garage.
The only way "astronomically" applies is the difference of seeing it first time back in Nov. 2019 and now, 4 years later after checking this site multiple times a day for last two years :). Now it's like "yeah, I got it, it's awesome, just take my money.. blah, blah, blah" :)
So it is just emotional exhaustion :)

I gladly will still purchase the cybertruck because I think it’s the coolest and most unique car made in a while. Maybe I’m simply reaching hard, and just staring at minor details. I’ve only seen the cybertruck at the Petersen automotive museum, and it looks incredible. I then saw videos of the prototypes being driven on the street, and they look nothing like it (in terms of body work, size, proportions, etc). Now that you’ve stated about it being a hand-built “kit car” I guess you’re right

No need to make fun… newbies like myself appreciate the content and people on this forum vs others. I feel more welcomed and less belittled than others.. let’s keep it that way

Sorry. You join a forum and make your 1st post and you say dramatic things that feel troll like you
get feedback from the group. Try making your post more like " I feel like this" or "it seems to me" or put out something factual not grossly false like above

The difference are the tires and rims, they're more aggressive on the prototype.

Sure but the OP wasn’t trying to be an a** hole about his post, read his later post… and if you can criticize his post, I can do the same to yours and say it came across like a forum tough guy….(sorry, you reply on the forum and act like a holier than thou forum guru, you get feedback from the group)

I have to wonder if the prototype's aggressive tires are street legal enough to pass the various government regulations. If not, a less aggressive tire pattern would be needed to sell the CT as being street-legal.
