It will be months, I don't think a year. That part of the extension is practically complete, internal overhead cranes installed. They may temporarily add panels to separate that section from the rest of the construction.

It may take 3 or 4 months at most imo to complete the fit out in that area.

Volume production 2024. Which fits the timeline.

My mistake, I thought you meant the factory extension, not the 50 foot first step in the factory extension. I saw a new wall in Stamping 2 in Joes photos this morning, and they are cleaning the floor in Stamping 3 so they might begin digging the foundation any time.

If they do start digging a foundation there, and if it is anything like the foundations they dug for Stamping 1 or 2, then it might take longer than the rest of the extension. If the full ramp is dependent on this stamping section then we are in trouble.

I am hoping that Stamping 2 is slated for the Cybertruck and that Stamping 3 will be for a second line or for something else. After all, Stamping 1 has 3 sections. But given the focus on speed maybe you are right.

I'm NOT convinced. During the second World War, the British built cardboard planes and parked them in rows to fool reconnaissance (!)
How do we know for sure them there's 9 'REAL TRUCKS'(?)
Edit: They also had inflatable tanks to fool the enemy (!)
These are probably inflated CYBRTRK ___'NOT_A_TANK'

The only reason to cover a CT with SS body and a door stop shape is to mess with our senses. It is a vehicular version of stretch pants. They were making Model Y while half the factory was still under construction. IDK what the new extension is for, but the "unused" part of the factory (presumably reserved for Cybertruck) was huge.

They can go into full production without ALL the processes being done at Austin. The extension could be simply to bring in processes that are currently being performed in other factories.

If, for instance, the seats are being made at another factory and are being shipped to GigaTexas for assembly into the Cybertruck, it's very possible they already have the capacity they need to go to full-rate production. However, their goal would be to move as many manufacturing steps as possible to GigaTexas to cut costs and better control quality.

TLDR:
Tesla can go full-rate production by using parts made at other factories. They'll eventually move those processes to the extension of GigaTexas.
