The noise is played continuously until speeds of 19mph are reached, per the US regulation.

Sounds like NHTSA give you more points if you finish off pedestrians quietly at higher speeds or with a Smi at lower speed. I think they may have administered this kind of stuff before:



I wonder how much of a help pedestrian noise would be in this kind of situation:



p.s. I was hit in a similar situation by a lady hitting gas pedal instead of break at a stop light. found out later, she had done this offen enough to know it is better to forget English when you hit people until your daughter arrives at the scene. She had totaled two cars already.
