I have bad news for anyone hoping to get a rear wheel drive “Entry Level” Cybertruck. The only Tesla you can currently order with rear wheel drive is the Model 3, which may very well lose that option once the configurator is updated for the new Model 3 Highland. There was once upon a time a promise of a rear wheel drive Model Y, and I suppose they did make a small handful of them, but their basically unicorns, and the planed RWD Model X never happened, Model S also lost its RWD config. back in late 2017. Frankly the number of people who truly want a 2wd truck vs 4wd truck will be such a small minority that it probably won’t make sense for Tesla to produce a 2wd variant anytime soon if ever. Maybe in a couple years when the sales hype wares off there might be a small possibility of a striped down work version of the truck, but I wouldn’t be holding my breath, especially seeing as none of the competition is offering 2WD even in their basic work truck configurations.
The 2WD Model Y is widely available in Europe.

I love how there are no circular references from the cup holders, steer wheel and even the numbers in painters tape on the side. The CT hates circles 0o0

I was hoping for a two tone white/grey interior like the concept renders. It leant a futuristic deco look. I guess I can make that happen on my own though.

In the frunk area we can see the frame members are a mustard color. This can be obtained by simply dipping the skeleton in a bath prior to further assembly. Hence no need for a spray painting department.

So Ford keeps the same design, removes the engine, and makes it a huge frunk and now people want to judge by frunk size? I don't get it. Ford took the path of least resistance to get an EV truck out before Tesla by not really designing anything new and people now set that as the standard by which all frunks should be measured. Ford's design is now function follows form whereas Tesla's is form follows function. They built and designed an EV truck from the ground up. They didn't just rip out an engine, transmission, and gas tank from an ICE truck and replace it with batteries and a couple motors. What else was Ford gonna do with an empty engine bay? They didn't have time to design it out and they wanted to keep their loyalists happy.
does it make bed larger by being “new”? what’s the gain of being “ new”

where was this energy when for the last 4 years this forum was packed with “CT Frunk going to dwarf the Lightning’s” “CT Frunk going to be HUGE!!” Etc?

you’re maybe not doing a pivot (I don’t know what you used to say about frunks), but as a class the forum has gone from “it’ll make Lightning Frunk look like a small joke” to one of either:

“I’m disappointed it’s not as big as I was told by people who turned out to not know”

or

“why should anyone care about a Frunk (that for 4 years I’ve been championing as being huge)

personally, I own a Lightning and don’t care much that the CT Frunk will be 1/2 the volume. Both because I never bought the “it’ll be huge” salesmanship, so I’m not disappointed, and also because what the CT Frunk “lacks” compared to lightning it makes up for with other features not on the Lightning.

so, boils down to, what’s the price …
there’s a little difference btw huge and “ not able to hold a backpack “

I've never really had an opinion one way or another when it came to the frunk on any vehicle. Unless it can carry junk my wife finds on Nextdoor, it doesn't matter. My biggest appeal for the cybertruck was that it was designed from the ground up to be an EV and it was a truck. Am i going to use it as a work truck? Nope. Am I going rock crawling? nope. I'll use it to pick up that occasional king size bed I didn't know we needed or to go on an impromptu picnic down a dirt road in the mountains. In my mind, cybertruck is a truck. end of story. it has a bed to haul crap. I could care less about the frunk as i have gone 30 years without one and I do just fine. I just need the bed to haul junk that will undoubtedly be replaced in 6 months.
let’s be real, it’s not a f150, look at R1T

I’m not a manufacturing guru or have any experience in it but hopefully this weather stripping will be one piece, being right over that wiper motor it will definitely cause issues down the road I would think. (no matter how great the liner in the frunk is)

being a huge fan of ct and 4 years of a loyal member of this forum, i’d say it’s been 4 years and the design ends up like this is pushing me away.
i’m not the type who REALLY NEEDS A TRUCK”, but i’m disappointed by this. Parts are not mounted, rain water not directed only seal is blocking the water from getting in, no shock resistant.
i cannot imagine what if i had an accident in front. also, it’s not about frunk being huge, it’s about “able to use”.
i know ppl here basically not allow ct being said any wrong, but i wanna be real.
