Excuse me, but a frunk, like a trunk, is meant to have storage. Disappointing to say the least.
No one at the 2019 reveal said “I bet it’s got a huge frunk”

Am I'm alone in feeling the more leaks I see, the more I'm somewhat disappointed with direction this trucks interiors going? Don't get me wrong, its exterior design is fantastic, but the interior is just too model 3 blah for what it is on the outside. And regarding the doors - is that just a clear plastic shipping wrap, or will the stainless steel always appear like that after extended use?

Be gentle fan boys it's just a opinion/question lol

Has anyone tried to see where the QR codes on the stickers takes you?

Thanks for the share! Great photos!

A few comments:

#1 - We can finally get a sneak peak at part of the backseat!!! Unfortunately, nothing is that impressive according to our viewpoint. :(

#2 - I love the "How's my driving?" sticker/tape on the back. Hilarious!

#3 - Geez Louise, there is a ton going on in that frunk! I am sure some of the smart people on here can possibly name of all of those parts and components. I was excited to see the electrical outlets, but it looks to be a generator that one of the workers put in there. Lame...

Edit - I ran that VIN in Carfax. Looks like it has an excellent history, no accidents, and worth the purchase! lol (actually... nothing comes up in Carfax...nothing surprising here)
Junk in the Frunk. What the heck occupies the space under that huge dash? Where did Ford put it all?

So is this the first confirmed variant? I don't think we have any confirmation of any other CTs to this date whether it is a Dual Motor or Tri-Motor.

keep in mind that Ford had the entire space taken by the engine to work with. Tesla prioritized making the vehicle short enough to fit in a standard garage for ease of charging.

The decoder didn't have values for digits 4 (C=Cybertruck, obvo) or 6 ("Restraint System" includes the seating configuration).

Oddly, digit 8 indicates a "Single Motor"...?
The vin info is the most interesting (although not sure how you can decipher the vin from those photos). They are using the 7G2 WMI which Tesla created last October for the Semi truck. So the Cybertruck is under the same category as the semi, instead of lumping it into the 7SA MPV category they use for the SUVs. Im thinking they consider it more in common with the semi than their passenger vehicles due to the 48v architecture shared with the semi.

Also critical of note, dual motor confirms what has been "leaked" and shuts down all those theorists who think the quad motor most expensive variant is going to be first out the gate.
Just connecting the above two dots:

Tesla Cybertruck Closeups!! Dual Motor Cybertruck shows frunk open, alcantara headliner, perforated seats, rectangular steering wheel, VIN # (8/31 pics) 1693531215084

Digit 4, “C”, modifies the remaining VIN digits

so while Digit 8 might mean ‘single motor’ under other variants of digit 5, under digit 5 as “C” apparently digit 8 means dual

haven’t focused on the rest of the VIN in this thread yet, but see bottom of post.

Digit 1-3: 7G2 = world identifier (newly known designation for CyberTruck)

Digit 4: C = Make/line/series (expected to be a C for CyberTruck here)

Digit 5: E = body type (sedan/4dr/LHD - though now maybe E = broader bucket)

Digit 6: H = restraint system (new for CyberTruck)

Digit 7: E = Fuel type (electric)

Digit 8: E = drive unit (kneels known designation for CyberTruck dual motor)

Digit 9: 3 = check digit (federal anti-VIN fraud code number)

Digit 10: P = model year 2023

Digit 11: A = plant of manufacture (Austin)

Digit 12: R = unique identifier for prototype stage designation (of “release candidate”)

Digit 13-18: = unique identifier 00602 (TX built RCs started at 601, so this is second unit built in TX)

Bit of research on past VINs plus photos from @MarkusNZL and today’s video from Joe

Tesla’s VINS generally:

529F587A-61A7-4B6A-AC1F-3FFC3C3BE410.jpeg

Where Digits 12 - 17:

IN PRE-RETAIL PRODUCTION:

DIGIT 12 PRE-retail Production series:
before retail production, this digit 12 will be an A = alpha, B = beta, R = release candidate, S=Signature, F=Founders

WHEREAS DIGITS 13-17: production sequence, and for above pre-production categories will generally start with a batch number in the hundredths

e.g., each Alpha could be “AXX3XX,” whereas each beta “BXX4XX” and so on

IN RETAIL PRODUCTION

After retail Production starts, digit 12 has a 0-9 digit here as the first of 6 digits in the production sequence to allow for 999,999 cars

SO, as seen in NZ, all Beta CTs are 5XX

And confirmed from Joe’s video of today, all RC CTs are 6XX

As release candidates can have step-wise iterations toward level of production readiness (eg RC1 vs RC2, etc.), it’s possible that within RCs we later see a jump from eg RC1s being 6XX to eg RC2s being 8XX, TBD

Unsure if they jump hundredth place categories between RC1 and RC2, but only to point out that if at some point in the coming weeks or months we see an ‘8XX’ it doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve built over >200 RCs (though that is also possible - wouldn’t be the plan, but could the result of a long road to retail production)

Conversely, if we see a ‘0XX’ - that’ll very likely be a retail production unit
