Hi everyone, I’m currently holding a reservation for Switzerland (76’000……) and as many other seen in the list, there are a lot of Europe reservations.

There is also no sighting of CT in Europe so far (correct me if wrong). What is your opinion about CT in Europe? Any chance this is gonna be allowed?

Hi Satadioz, I think so, because at the beginning of the presentation of the cybertruck, Elon Musk had talked about 2 versions of the pick-up (the current one and a smaller version which will be the equivalent of the Ford Ranger) as we says it on this article: https://insideevs.com/news/560952/tesla-cybertruck-two-sizes-rumor/ Now the question is how soon..... Will Tesla honor our reservation despite the extraordinary size for us Europeans, only time will tell.

PS: I have also booked and i am from Belgique.

There was one sighted in Iceland.

But yes, no definite information on availability so far. To date Tesla has not built cars that are limited to only one of their markets, but everything has been available globally.

From a European regulatory perspective the two question marks are pedestrian safety and weight. The size, while potentially awkward, is not a regulatory concern (there are bigger vans, and it’s nice they’ve squeezed it down a bit). Weight can be a problem: if it’s too heavy it will need to be regulated as a light truck, which means having a truck license (doable) and technical speed limiters in many countries (a complete deal breaker).

A more limited payload is I think acceptable, but if the vehicle’s own weight is too much, then we have a problem.

We should also keep in mind Ford has stated they will start selling the Lightning in Europe next year.

The supposed small version was not mentioned in the original launch presentation. It was referred to in a random Tweet by Elon, with language being vague: “We’ll probably do a smaller, tight world truck at some point.”

Does that mean a ‘tight world’ truck? Or a tight ‘world truck’? Does it mean non US will not get the larger size one? Who knows. I’m guessing Elon didn’t at the time either, hence the ‘probably’.

This was tweeted long before the current, smaller Cybertruck was first shown. So it’s anyone’s guess how this will play out.

that is wild assumption! you can ship regular car from US to EU at~$1500
Costs range 1500-5000 at best to port. You’re using best case, I’m using worse case. But I realize that have been misleading with my statement and shouldn’t generalize as such, my bad.

Any of the numerous vehicle transports loaded with the CT‘s seen heading towards any docks?

They have to. No two ways about it.
There's no way they're going to let the rest of the world enjoy all that Cyberawesomeness (that's a real new word, look it up in Websters) by themselves.

Europe, like Australia is a reasonably good market for Tesla. The Model Y and 3 are doing well out in the real World DownUnder and people love 'em.
The order book for Oz is over 25K.
The likelihood of European Countries and Australia getting it is more than a 70% chance. Good enough for me to hang in there...... Christmas Day 2025 ;)

There was conflicting information whether that was Iceland or a Mexican volcanic glacier.

I wasn’t aware of that, interesting. I know some speculated if it was still New Zealand but I was under the impression someone in the know debunked that and stated Iceland.
