I think R1Ts are good looking trucks, except for the pill shaped headlights. I never could understand who thought those were a great idea and likely fought to keep them as part of the design.

A shorter wheelbase like the Rivian has is better off road, all else being equal. But as a life-long off-roader, I can tell you with zero uncertainty that you are going to have to work really hard to find places the Rivian R1T can go that the Cybertruck cannot. And I think there will also be a few of the converse, places the Cybertruck can go but not the R1T. Both will be few and far between unless you are simply picking particularly challenging routes, rather than just trying to get somewhere specific, like a good campsite.

In other words, for most people off-road capability will never be a limiting factor as to the utility of either vehicle. Tires will matter more.

I don't understand the hate for them, it doesn't seem healthy.

Really??? It’s design, or even art. If it is good, it invokes emotion. The Rivian design (just like the CT) invokes feelings and emotions, for and against.

What would NOT be healthy is to go through life without feelings, emotion, opinions. Even more unhealthy would be to have none of that, and not understand why everyone else has them.

Take the Rivian off road, and after a while, it will look like a once beautiful person who hasn't aged well.

The CT in the other hand, imo will develop a beautiful ruggedness,

Why bother hating something? Seems like wasted effort.

I think it looks like a cartoon robot. I like it.

Seems like wasted effort to mention disliking something that's aesthetic.

Well, almost 4 years now on the forum and I can confirm there has been no wasting of time or effort here for sure.

In all honesty and at the risk of wasting time, those headlight IMO are cartoonish. With that I came darn close to ordering one when first revealed. I thought it was the coolest concept to have all electric truck with that incredible interior. I was impressed.
Until a SS truck from the future stole my heart.

The Rivian is definitely easily identifiable when oncoming, even from a distance.

The Cybertruck will be as well.
I agree but would add the CT will almost have that extreme look much like the Hummer H1 when it came out. It is over the top different and with time will grow on people who want different besides what we know and understand about the CT that makes it much more then that.
