And you were saying this is not a car bomb?
If this was a “car bomb” is was an inept one. The only fatality was the driver, and only property damage the truck.

We’re all speculating wildly. Glad Elon chimed in to confirm that this wasn’t a mechanical failure, but beyond that we have few facts.

Let’s leave the conspiratorial ramblings to Reddit where it belongs.

This also further confirms that the entire Tesla fleet has near real-time telemetry. Tesla always has the receipts. thankfully!
I have a certain level of discomfort with the idea that Elon could shut my car off anytime he wants to. Always have, always will. Not enough to not buy 5 cars from him, but it’s there.

While not as fast as a Cyberbeast, an F-150 Lightning is still way faster than most ICE trucks, thus more of a potential weapon when ramming a crowd.

Likewise IF an EV burns (rare actually, even when submerged), it's very hard to put out. So also more of a potential weapon in that sort of scenario.

At least if someone thinks like that.

Conjecture time. Has anyone seen an actual mortar-style firework explosion go off? Super serious explosion, especially when contained in the bed of a CT with more fireworks being ignited. That type of firework has the same style of explosion as a bomb would. It definitely is suspicious that it was parked at the Trump Hotel. Could it have simply been someone transporting these type of bomb-like fireworks (New Year's Eve) and the unfortunate happens? Seems like if it were a terrorist act that the driver would have exited the vehicle before. Hell, if it were a suicide bomber, why not crash through the lobby and then ignite the bomb?

The explosion was on the bed and it was a rented cyber truck. Intentional.

This post by musk is very weird.

"telemetry was positive" what does that even mean?

Two, posting this info at large is uh weird instead of just handing it over to leo.

three, "confirming" it was either a, b, or c. Isn't a confirmation.

e: to add I clearly know he's trying to clean his hands of "it was the ct's fault" but just stfu for once.
All the team at Tesla has to go off of is the data that the vehicle reports. I'm sure they've provided a full report to the authorities.
Him sharing this is good for the owners/shareholders. He is basically stating that it was not caused by a vehicle failure. It was caused by foreign objects/actions. Based on the data available these are the possibilities.
I see this as a positive by Elon and Tesla (assuming it is the truth, which is always the case).
