Haggerty video explains the tech inside. Marques does the interior. And the Top Gear is more focused on exterior. Its weird each video focuses on different aspects of the truck.
A few other points. Opinion obviously-

- I would prefer a dedicated rear view mirror screen with a constant running feed of the back camera.

- I would prefer dedicated side mirror screens inside the cabin (next to the A pillar) in order to safely remove the side mirrors.

I’m all for deleting parts but I feel the above screens would have been amazing.

Yes definitely.

I live in the northeast and regularly drive approx 170 miles to my second home.

In the winter this will require an additional stop to charge. If I’m gonna pay 100k for a truck it would be nice to be able to make a 200 mile trip without stopping.
Good luck finding an EV that gets better than 450 beast or 470 dual.

You could always charge at your second home. 50 miles at ~2.5 miles/kWh is 20 kWh, at ~5 insulation hours means you'd need a 4kW system. You would get your extra 50 miles with a 1-day visit.

In fact, a 3 and 1/2 day stay at the second home and you would have made back the 170 miles.

I'm sure anyone who can afford $100,000 truck with a $16,000 extra battery and a second home can afford a 4 kilowatt solar system.

You are correct.

Sorry for the misunderstanding but I am lamenting the need to buy the 16k extended range add on. I wish the Cyberbeast itself would have a 470 mile range. After all we are talking about the highest trim level available.

Although I may end up getting the CT when my time is up, I don't understand how everyone isn't univerally calling out EM for promising a 500+ mile range for $69K and instead giving a 300+ mile range for $99K. I mean, I appreciate the man and the company, but that could be one of the biggest 'misses' I've seen. He, himself, has made a big deal of auto mfg's bait and switching with prototypes that are never close to the production versions.

Yes, the truck is cool. Yes, there was inflation. Yes, making batteries better is hard... but this was a massive miss!

That being said, the value prop vs other EV's is there, so proceeding with a purchase makes sense if you want an EV truck.... but, 500 miles down to 300 ... sheesh. Seems fair game to criticize IMO.

Those are just additional parts that just add to the cost. Tesla is optimized to the extreme by using the already existing center screen to do all that. I think most people will just remove the center mirror completely and it looks like it is easily user removable.

I’m am pretty confident that many who claim they are passing on the Cybertruck and received the “configure your Cybertruck” e-mail this week from Tesla would reconsider purchasing.
Yeah I was a first day reservation holder for the M3 in 2016 and I got that email. It was pretty exciting despite the fact I was in the hospital getting a knee replacement lol

There was a reason that Elon didn't announce the range and the price at the reveal event- he didn't want to get BOOED!!

If the Cyberbeast range extender could have been placed in the compartment storage underneath the truck bed and increase the range to at least 400 miles and be priced under $10,000. I would be very interested.

Can’t help but be letdown by the Cyberbeast.
I would have had no problem plunking down 100k for the current Cyberbeast variant if it just had 500+ miles.

Extended range pack is just an ugly bandaid with too many compromises for 16k.

Maybe in 5 years the range will get there.
My two main reason were 500 mile range and stainless steel body, no worry of scratches and dents when working around the truck. Self driving and load capacity. Glad it has harder glass, lots of glass to break. This was going to be my everything vehicle, quick trip to th corner store and drives across the country. Sleeping in the truck instead of a motel and super comfort while driving long distances. From throwing a couch or refrigerator to move or loads of 2x4’s and drywall for home building projects. Again, my everything car/truck.

Or even make the side walls of the bed raisable or higher and spread the batteries across the entire floor of the bed and take underspace under back seats. Combination of the two.
