Exactly, the new pre-orders will be more than or equal to the so called “cancellations” eventually.
This vehicle is a once in a generation vehicle and most people get that. Some wont and never will which is fine
First off my take is 33% who want to buy is a very high number for any auto purchase.
Second thought is 100,000 new orders is strong interest, and lastly any body who drops out of preorder queue is good for me (us from the preorder queue). RN1129xxxxx ?

I'm in 11275. If anyone wants to buy me out, I'd be happy to. Even sell you the one when my number gets called. I ain't paying $80-100k for a 350-mile truck

There may be an odd addition to an existing order, but I'd say all new orders are new customers.. Who, in the main, have not gone through the trials and tribulations of having their original price increased and features taken away from them.

The best disgruntled customer is the one who feels he/she already owns it, only to have something that is 'theirs' taken away.

These new customers will all be happy chappies, rapt with the features and price. As will all new customers from here on in.

For reference, in my office of 12 people 6 has CT reservation and none of them have canceled and majority(4-5 at least) will go through with it. Only two out of 12 are Tesla owners and one more is looking to put down deposit
Once again, how many are contractors that would use them to carry equipment and supplies? None?

When the first IPhone came out a broad section of the public had a similar reaction because it "looked weird" and had no keypad.

Look how that worked out

The narrative 'had no keypad' came from Nokia I think, and the narrative was parroted by the MSM.

To be fair, even Legacy use FUD against each other, but Tesla is the world champion recipient. lol

Back in the day, companies worked hard selling their product, I sensed a code of conduct. These days, attacking competitors has become a science.

MSM are mouths for hire.. Their views should come with a disclaimer, 'Our opinions are directed by our advertisers'.

I don’t think it’s transferable but people after you would really love it if you cancel it :). Also as a community service please post screenshot if/when you cancel it

67% of those surveyed from a pool of non-reservation holders say they will not buy the CT. Elsewhere, Analysts predicted over all conversion rate even lower at 20%

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/...-of-respondents-wouldnt-buy-it-201726855.html

I wasn't in the survey, but I'm one who's not going to buy, now that I've seen it. Not because I'm not impressed with it. I want the tri-motor (beast) but I just don't think it's worth the money. After buying FSD, getting a charger for home, etc. it's essentially a $115K truck, just not worth it (for me). But, I'm also working on building a house and want to stay as close to debt free as possible so that makes the CT basically a high end luxury item. Just doesn't make sense when I'd use it as a daily driver.

that's good for me hopefully they cancel soon so I can move up the list
Read the survey…it was a survey of NON-RESERVATION persons….i.e. general population. 20+% of people who do not currently hold a reservation gave a positive affirmation to Cybertruck. That is awesome. ?

That’s fine. How many contractors do you know personally that have cancelled or said NO to Cybertruck ? Most buy trucks as a fashion statement in Texas as their daily driver and to do grocery runs.

The conversion rate Tesla is looking for is 12% to 15% Hear me out
Pricing reduces take rate by 60% based on income averages
Range reduces take rate another 10%
Interest rate combined with inflation reduces take rate another 10%
Lastly the silent killer no one talks about is people who bought tesla and are underwater 10k+ whom want a cybertruck but financially understand their stuck and you end up at 12%-15%

Tesla can and may change the take/conversion at will to match their production-sales numbers by doing the following:
Reduce price
Change up pricing/size of extended battery
Offer special finance rates
TESLA HAS 100% CONTROL

I personally would like to request:
Trade in increased value for current Tesla owners
Special Financing target 4.99%
A smaller $7500 extended range battery of roughly 30kwh which only takes up 1/4 of bed
Pricing can remain the same

Correct, as a fashion statement. Not a Contractors work truck.

Now if I keep my Sprinter and NV high roof vans and get rid of my Traverse awd suv, then I could work with the CT. But a 60% price hike is not in the cards. 20% ok. I'm still keeping my spot in line incase something changes or my shares run up another 60% when my number is called.

2 nights after the reveal, I was back home in LA at a Christmas party and 2 people who knew I was at the event came up to me and said they were going to pass. Although 1 of them is going to take the $1000. Credit and put it into a Model Y. He originally purchased a model 3 , 3 years ago when he got tired of waiting for the CT.

If I did purchase, it would be a 2 motor awd model.
