Great points! Yes, 4680's are still new and will improve with later versions of the CT.Although you have done a nice price breakdown (thanks for that!), the only thing that matters is the last paeagraph. There are a couple of missing intanbibles: (1) first run will have issues that will likely be resolved within the year, and (2) it is possible that Tesla could improve 4680 performance and cost in the next year. Is the extra time waiting and agonizing worth it? What value do we put on stress? For me at my age I’d say that the added stress is worth a lot more than it was 20 years ago![]()
I remember hearing from Elon that the best time to buy a new vehicle is the very early days, where additional attention is paid to early builds, and then after the production ramp, where the early mass production bugs are worked out.
My Model3 is a VIN 48k and has been solid with no real issues, a couple of real minor things, but overall, it is really solid.
