Our service advisor has told me our Cybertruck is in Cali and should be ready for deliver anyday.

Anyone else getting cold feet on accepting delivery? Reviews seem to be mixed. I keep going back and forth.

Ive wanted this car since it was announced but what’s another year at this point right?

anyone else feeling the same?

At this point you will lose your $250 or $1000 dollars and your spot in the order. I don't think it will be a year for you, but it will be years. I am getting it as soon as they give me the green light, because I might not have a chance for awhile after that.

Not exactly, but I assumed I wouldn't be assigned a VIN until September at the earliest and now I'm rushing to try and get financing lined up. I didnt even bother applying for a car loan, just put it on cash. I've got an investment property I own outright I'm trying to set up a HELOC with a local credit union, but I'm worried I won't get it closed in time. I'm in VT, so maybe this will buy me a month, which should help. Otherwise, I might have to trade my 2022 Y LR in in order to make it work. It would really help if I knew even what month I’d be assigned, but it sounds like it’s a huge mystery at least for now.

Theres no harm in waiting IMO. Worst thing that could happen is you save $20k and give T the chance to work out more gremlins
Worst or good ?
It is stupid to pay $20k extra just to get the truck early , there are better things to do in the world instead of fulfilling the greed of corporations

yea honestly not huge fan of the $20k foundation markup. Not a huge fan of FSD as it is. Won’t use the home power share thing either. They definitely know how to squeeze out every last drop for people who have been waiting, ughh!

Glad I have not gotten to the VIN step yet to be honest, lot of info coming in from owners now and that will only increase as time goes on. Right now there have been some unpleasant surprises post delivery and hoping that they get ironed out or at least all reveled before it is my turn to take delivery or bail.

I say all of this as a Cybertruck lover and I have never doubted how much I want this truck, even though they got rid of my middle front seat that I really wanted.

But I feel that a lot of people, especially people who get this truck in the first year, will end up regretting their decision to spend so much money on a truck. More money than they would have ever spent on a different vehicle, and on a truck that they will probably use the same that they will use any car.

Like sure, it will be cool to drive, cool to show off, and the steer by wire could be a really nice and comfortable way to drive. That steer by wire might be the biggest different for most people. If you aren't towing more than 5000lbs, or using much of the bed, a model X would be enough for people and still be just as luxurious, probably a bit more (depending on preference), and you could fit more people. if you aren't towing more than 3500, you could save a bunch of money and get a model Y. Both of these options have a superior in vehicle, climate controlled, camping experience.

I think the Cybertruck will be a sight to see and something to show off for years, but 2-3 months after someone buys it, when their personal hype goes away, when their friends and family have seen it, when they don't use the bed or tow anything, and they are spending a bit more and taking longer to charge a less efficient vehicle that goes basically the same distance. I could see people reflecting on their reasons for buying it and realizing it was mostly just the hype around the Cybertruck.

There will obviously be people who want this truck for whatever reason, but I think the Cybertruck will be most beneficial for people who like the style, like electric, and have a more than occasional need for a truck...and don't mind throwing 80k+tax on it. Or if someone has a need for a local work truck that doesn't need to haul too far.

I know a lot of people who can't really afford a big expensive truck, but financed one, only a couple of them kept it and the others eventually sold it for a loss. The ones that sold either got a cheaper truck or a car and they just rent a truck on the rare times they need one.

Edit: of course people will regret this much more if they actually get the foundation series but don't value the extras or getting it early, at that 20k price tag.

Just curious. If you aren’t a fan of FSD or the PowerShare, why did you place your FS order?

I suspect that it will be pretty much equal in range and performance to your Model X. Is that satisfactory?
