Tesla decapitated the scalpers market by introducing the Foundation Series. The resale clause is both unnecessary and offensive. Why punish honest early adopters who may want to flip the vehicle for normal reasons such as they do not like it, their needs change etc..?

Being an early adopter the buyer assumes a certain risk for a perceived reward. The FS is certainly good financial marketing but Tesla knows they are selling to a long suffering audience. Until FSD is fully operable and certified it is worth $000000 and same for the PowerShare if you do not qualify. The value in the FS is almost entirely I gotta have it now!!! If you have the spare cash by all means indulge. If you do not use restraint. Thrills last a few days or weeks. Regrets last longer.

Our service advisor has told me our Cybertruck is in Cali and should be ready for deliver anyday.

Anyone else getting cold feet on accepting delivery? Reviews seem to be mixed. I keep going back and forth.

Ive wanted this car since it was announced but what’s another year at this point right?

anyone else feeling the same?
Buy it! they'll literally buy it back from you if you dont like it lol and if they dont, you can sell third party and make $$

Go to a truck lot and look for a similar ICE truck. It'll cost you 80k+. The CT is not expensive for a truck.
Yes and no. Similar to looking at a Tesla, which is very expensive. The most common Tesla's sold are the 3/Y with selling hundreds of thousands more than the S/X. People want the luxury but will often opt for the cheaper ones.

While a lot of expensive trucks can be found, the most common truck trims sold will almost always be the cheapest 4 door, full size truck. It's big, it's comfortable, and it looks pretty similar to those 80k+ trucks, while costing usually 50-70k.

I won't say it's uncommon to find an 80k truck on the road being driven by someone, but it's also not all that uncommon to find a model S/X or a Mercedes, or other luxurious vehicle.

And to say the CT is not expensive really depends on the person. For a lot of people, 60k, even for a truck, could be a pricey option. 80-100k which is the only options now, is expensive for the majority, even for a truck, it's just more in line with other expensive trucks. and right now, for most people receiving in the first year, possibly all trucks delivered in the first year, will cost 100-120k, which is more expensive than most trucks except for the highest trim.

Wealthy people do not buy unnecessary toys for emotional clicks. I have a small fleet of vehicles and they all have a purpose. Why are some of you that are techies buying a pickup truck ?

Spend the $120k on your family ...your future.

But Elon does appreciate the donation
I respectfully disagree. Buying unnecessary toys for emotional clicks is exactly what a lot wealthy people do. I’m surrounded by these people and see it everyday.

I’m not a techie but I gotta wonder why they should’t buy a truck? Don’t they camp, ride bikes, ski, or work on their homes? When did trucks become solely for the construction crowd?

I hear this a lot about how Lightenings are on the lots right now and available.

Why do think that is? At that price point for a Electric truck, shouldn’t they be flying out the door? I promise this isn’t a snarky comment. I don’t know much about the Lightening. My buddy has one and it seems very nice. Why do you think they’re not selling well?

First I would like the option to sell on the open market IF I decided I do not like a vehicle I did not get to test drive before purchase or if FSD bets/auto steer are still not available, but I am buying agreeing to Tesla's terms.

With that, .25 per mile is fair to generous. If I drive it for 3 months and just do not like it, don't have autosteer/FSD by then and reach out to Tesla to buy back I am out freight, tax, doc fees and 250 dollars per 1000 miles driven. Sound about right?

My first new car was so far beyond my means that I maxed out two credit cards just to make the down payment. I calculated that for 5 years my lunches would be limited to ramen and Kool Aid.

I regret nothing.

I agree, normally just selling it however you want would be more ideal. But since that's not available, buyback seems legit to me. Especially because of this were a normal vehicle selling third party would net you much less then Teslas terms for buyback. But as we know that likely wouldn't be the case for CT.

But yea that's pretty much how I understand it. Although I don't lawyer

until Tesla also wants bs “wear And tear” off, and will the honor the price plus foundation series or just the $79,990 base price!?

I don't know tbh. But I would guess as long as you give all the stuff back then probably FS. But that'd be a question for someone in the loop or smarter than me. Lol ?

I am. I don't have a VIN yet but the more I learn about Cybertruck, the more it seems like a lemon. FS value just doesn't add up to me. It was basically just a way for Tesla to force early adopters like us to pony up for FSD which I would not have done. And explain what the other $8000 is paying for. White plastic inside? The badge etched in it which I don't even like? All this for an unfinished product (no FSD or even autopilot) that they are working out the production kinks. We are literally buying the worst version of Cybertruck for the maximum price. I regret the moment of FOMO when I got the email and blew $1k that I can't get back.
I hope whatever decision you make is the right one for you. What I would caution you about is deciding whether or not you should buy it based on other people’s opinions. I love researching products before I purchase them so I look to folks who have bought and experienced the product before I decide whether or not I buy it. The opinion of someone else, who may or may not have even seen a Cybertruck IRL, shouldn’t carry much weight. YouTube has plenty of videos from new CT owners who are more than willing to share their honest opinions and answer questions based on actually owning and driving the vehicle, not reading forum opinions. Again, I hope whatever you decide is right for you.
