Like less than 40%.

I’m guessing you are referring to actual order slots..

but. there is also the others who may have thought that if the top trim can get 500+ surely the lower trims will meet their targets, and may have placed an order accordingly..

The lower trims have higher ranges than at reveal.

How can you say something meets or beats what is claimed, if you have not witnessed it?

Don't knee jerk at the title lol. Watch or read first.
People who actually believe that Cybertruck is a dud don't see what's really going on here. Yes, it's going to take time to ramp production to high enough levels to be able to sell them like hotcakes, but that's just because Cybertruck requires entirely new manufacturing methods that take time to optimize for economy of scale.

Costs will come down and volumes will rise up. The Cybertruck requires very little labor, and fewer robots to manufacture, relative to the Model 3. Increasing scale and falling costs will ensure it sells at high volume.

The title is misleading because it implies Kyle said the Cybertruck was Tesla's first dud. He did not say or imply that.

He really did say that though at about 29 mins the question starts "(is CT Teslas first dud) and at bout 31 he says (I think objectively, yes. )

The dud comment wasn't about volume. It was about specs and performance and work

OK, I take it back. He did say dud. But by the same reasons he gave for saying that, his Rivian is a dud too and so is the F-150.

He also said at the moment the interview was given, he would take the Cybertruck over his Rivian. But that it was close.

If they were held to the same standard maybe but the f150 was first so it can't be a dud by these metrics. And the rivian met expectations I believe (didn't follow it too much prior to launch).

But yea for towing I would agree

So let's look at it.

500 miles was ONLY specified on the 3-motor configuration. The dual-motor is indeed meeting it's expectation.

Seems like the pundits are conveniently forgetting about reality.
For 2 of the 3 trims of the Cybertruck, Tesla met AND EXCEEDED.

Meaning no guesstimated calculations based on driving 70mi @ whatever Wh/mi.

when I drive I depend on my Trip Meter and its history of proven success..

Dual Motor doesn't meet top speed claim, price claim or payload claim.

But yea, range it meets on paper. Not exceeds.

Only spots it exceeded was 0-60 and towing

It is quite easy to get it to go over the 300-mile EPA range.

You have to remember that EVs get LESS range on the highway EPA tests than the city tests, reverse of an ICE.

55 mph should beat 300 miles.

But "meeting the numbers" is not what a highly watched YouTube is.
